Since your Amazon Echo is connected to your Amazon account, Alexa will notify you over your device when you have a message in your Amazon account inbox.
For example, when a seller responds to a message you have sent them directly, or when an Amazon order gets delivered, your speaker will display a flashing yellow light.
To find out what the message is, whether a package delivery or some other communication in your Amazon inbox, just ask Alexa what the message is.

How to stop your Alexa speaker from flashing yellow
When you have a message in your Amazon inbox, whether from Amazon or a third party, your Echo will flash yellow along the top.
These messages include notifications that an Amazon order has been delivered — likely the most common reason that the Echo would flash yellow.
To get your Echo or other Alexa-enabled device to stop flashing yellow, ask Alexa to read your message.
If it is a delivery notification, it will simply tell you that an order has been delivered. If it is a message received in your inbox, Alexa will read you the message.
Since you can use your Alexa app to send and receive text messages, you can also access those using your Echo or other Alexa-enabled app.
How to stop your Alexa speaker from flashing yellow using the Alexa app
1. Open the Alexa app on your iPhone or Android.
2. Tap the three lines in the top-left corner.
3. Tap "Settings."
4. Tap "Device Settings."
5. Tap your device and then tap "Communications."
6. Tap the toggle next to "Communications" so it turns gray.
