The DCEU adaptation of The Flash was reportedly set to begin pre-production in April, according to Hollywood stunt coordinator Eunice Huthart.
"The project I was due to start is The Flash," she told Screen Rant. "I was supposed to start at about the end of April, beginning of May. I'm not sure what's happening now with that."
2019 proved to be a big year for the film that has struggled to get off the ground. A release date set for July 1, 2022, was announced in late December, and It director Andy Muschietti signed on to helm the film in August. Over the years, the film has changed hands several times, with Spider-Man: Homecoming co-writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein attached at one point to direct. The Flash himself Ezra Miller has even tried his hand at writing the solo film with Grant Morrison.
The Flash is the latest film to be pushed back due to the coronavirus outbreak. Multiple studios have had to move production of films off set or shut down entirely, slowing down the producing process of major blockbusters, including Mission: Impossible 7 and Minions: The Rise of Gru.
Helmed by Andy Muschietti, The Flash is expected to star Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West and Billy Crudup as Henry Allen. The film is set to arrive in theaters on July 1, 2022.
