The Flash showrunner Eric Wallace says that Mirror Iris’ reveal will have tragic consequences for the show.
One of the most popular shows on television, The Flash, is currently on a three-week hiatus and a much deserved one at that. This past season has been chock-full of iconic moments due to the Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover. With the crossover event behind us, The Flash can now focus more on building personal moments with some of its most interesting characters. This season, all eyes have turned to Iris. Or perhaps, we should say Mirror Iris.
For the past little while on The Flash, Candice Patton’s Iris West has been trapped in the Mirror Universe with Eva McCulloch. The real fun and thrill comes in knowing that no one knows that the Iris West they’re interacting with is actually Mirror Iris. Speaking with TVLine, The Flash showrunner Eric Wallace discussed how Mirror Iris’ reveal will have tragic consequences for the show.
“Yes — and the audience won’t have to wait until the end of the season for this to happen. However, there will be tragic consequences to learning the truth about Mirror-Iris. Consequences that will send the season in a new, even more dangerous direction for Team Flash.”
Only time will tell exactly what consequences Mirror Iris’ reveal will have for The Flash thought it’s certain it’ll leave quite the mark on Barry Allen. It’s quite tragic that his lover isn’t who she says she is, which can be traumatic for anyone, let alone the DC speedster. We can imagine whatever’s left of this season of The Flash will focus on Barry Allen trying to get his Iris West back, though that’s just a theory.
