The Flash's latest Iris storyline will have "tragic consequences" for the show - digitalspy.com

The Flash season 6 spoilers follow.

The Flash is about to enter "new" and "dangerous" waters following the Mirror-Iris storyline.

Chatting to TV Line about the season 6 twist, showrunner Eric Wallace was asked if Barry Allen will eventually figure out it's not the real Iris he's living with.

"Yes – and the audience won't have to wait until the end of the season for this to happen," he confirmed.

It's not all good news for fans though, as Wallace also suggested: "There will be tragic consequences to learning the truth about Mirror-Iris. Consequences that will send the season in a new, even more dangerous direction for Team Flash."

Whatever these consequences turn out to be, be prepared for some serious drama when the superhero show resumes next month (April 7 in the US, to be exact).

Back in season 6's 11th episode, which aired last month, Barry noticed how Iris was beginning to act strangely different.

First of all, she cooked him a slap-up breakfast, before surprising him with some Italian skills and later smashing a bottle over a thug's head (he deserved it).

In the very last scene, we learned that the real reason Iris was acting weird is because she's actually trapped inside a mirror dimension.

This picked up from a cliffhanger during episode 10, which saw someone drag her into it.

The Flash airs on Tuesdays at 8/7c on The CW in the US. Sky One and NOW TV air the show in the UK.
