10 Best Behind The Scenes Photos From The Flash | ScreenRant - Screen Rant

CW's The Flash premiered in 2014 and is in its sixth season, and there are many great behind the scenes photos from the many years of production. There have been many big bads, many action scenes, and even guest directors. The show has a big fanbase and continues to pump out exciting stories about one of the most popular DC Comics characters. It stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen aka the Flash, Candice Patton as Iris West, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow aka Killer Frost, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon aka Vibe, Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells, Jesse L. Martin as Joe West, Hartley Sawyer as Ralph Dibny aka Elongated Man, and Danielle Nicolet as Cecile Horton.

While many shots will be of The Flash cast and crew, the Arrowverse loves to have crossovers. That means you will also find characters from Arrow and Supergirl here. Here at the 10 best behind the scenes photos from The Flash.

10 Season One Cast

This picture is from season one on the CC Jitters set. Pictured are Grant Gustin, Rick Cosnett (Eddie Thawne), Candice Patton, and Jesse L. Martin.

Eddie worked for the Central City Police Department and was a love interest for Iris in season one. He also turned out to be an ancestor of Eobard Thawne, the Reverse-Flash. Eddie sacrificed himself to wipe the Reverse-Flash from existence. True to form, the Reverse-Flash didn't stay dead.

9 Flash vs Arrow

"Flash vs Arrow" was the first crossover of the Arrowverse, and was simpler than the crossovers of today. It contained one episode of The Flash and one episode of Arrow. Here we see Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen) talking to the crew on the crossover.

The crossover featured the villains Rainbow Raider and Captain Boomerang, played by Paul Anthony and Nick E. Tarabay respectively. It took place during The Flash season one and Arrow season three.

8 Flash and Reverse-Flash

Here we see Tom Cavanagh as The Reverse-Flash and Grant Gustin as the Flash. Both Cavanagh and Matt Letscher portray Eobard Thawne, but Cavanagh portrays him when he's in the form of Harrison Wells. Reverse-Flash is Flash's worst enemy, however, the actors are good friends.

Cavanagh's time as Reverse-Flash seemed to end at the end of season except for a few cameos. But he returned in season five and became a threat once more.

7 Grant Gustin, Melissa Benoist, and a Dog

In a photo sure to make anyone smile, here are Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist playing with a dog. Unlike Grant, Melissa is in costume as Supergirl.

While Supergirl was on Earth-38 for many seasons, the crossovers still allowed Supergirl and Flash to meet up. After the events of "Crisis on Infinite Earths," the two heroes now live on the same Earth.

6 West Siblings

Here we have a brother and sister photo. Keiynan Lonsdale plays Wally West aka Kid Flash and Candice Patton plays Iris West. While Wally is Iris' nephew in the comics, the show's version has them as siblings. Iris and Wally's mother had left the family while pregnant, and Joe and Iris didn't know, so they don't know about Wally until he is eighteen.

When the show started, it was only a matter of time before fan-favorite Wally showed up. Wally is also a speedster and is a partner to the Flash. In the comics, Wally was rebooted for the New 52. When Rebirth started, the original Wally was brought back, and the new Wally began to go by Wallace. Both are nephews of Iris. The original Wally is also known as the Flash, and Wallace remains Kid Flash and a member of the Teen Titans.

5 Tom Cavanagh Directing Cicada

Tom Cavanagh is seen here directing Chris Klein as Cicada in the season five episode "What's Past Is Prologue." The episode was the third that Cavanagh directed, the others being "The Once and Future Flash" in season three and "Elongated Journey Into Night" in season four. "What's Past Is Prologue" was also the show's 100th episode.

John Wesley Shipp and Teddy Sears were among the cameos for the big episode. In the episode, Barry and Nora travel back in time to gather pieces of what they need for the power dampener.

4 Kevin Smith Directing

Legendary director Kevin Smith has directed three episodes of The Flash. His episodes were "The Runaway Dinosaur" in season two, "Killer Frost" in season three, and "Null and Annoyed" in season four. He's also directed four episodes of Supergirl. His longtime collaborator Jason Mewes also made cameos in two of his episodes of The Flash.

Besides being a big comic book fan, Smith has also written several. He wrote a "Daredevil" story for Marvel and "Green Arrow" for DC, during which time he helped create Mia Deardon, the second Speedy.

3 Hartley Sawyer and Danielle Panabaker

Here we find Hartley Sawyer and Danielle Panabaker at the scene of a crime. Sawyer plays Ralph Dibny, who is the superhero Elongated Man. Panabaker plays Dr. Caitlin Snow, who is the former-villain and now-hero Killer Frost.

Panabaker has also directed two episodes of The Flash, "Godspeed" in season five and "License to Elongate" in season six.

2 Grant Gustin In Action

Here is Grant Gustin as the Flash filming a season five episode. Judging from his gloves, this might be when they were fighting Caitlin's dad, Thomas Snow aka Icicle.

Icicle was another in a series of cold-related villains in The Flash. The others have been Killer Frost and Captain Cold.

1 Two Flashes

Here is John Wesley Shipp as the Earth-90 version of The Flash, and Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen when he switched places with Barry Allen. The show certainly has many Flashes, the same as the comics do. Shipp portrays the same Flash he did on the '90s series The Flash. He also plays the original comics version of The Flash, Jay Garrick. It's easier to have these actors on each other's shows since all of them film in Vancouver.

This photo is from the fifth annual Arrowverse crossover. "Elseworlds" took place across The Flash season five, Arrow season seven, and Supergirl season four. It was also the debut of Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane and Ruby Rose as Batwoman.
