There's even more trouble in store for The Flash, as the Scarlet Speedster will have to rebound from his defeat at the hands of Paradox by fighting in a battle he probably doesn't want to engage in. In previews for the upcoming The Flash #758, Barry Allen will run into a corrupted version of the Tornado Twins - his future children.
Don and Dawn Allen first appeared in Adventure Comics #753 as Barry Allen and Iris West's twin children. Known as the Tornado Twins, the children grew up in the 30th Century, as the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths shook up the timeline. The Tornado Twins backstories have been changed constantly throughout the character's history, but the duo has been teased as villains of the future in the current Flash arc. After The Flash was zapped into a seemingly new reality by the cosmic being Paradox, it seems he'll have to contend with evil versions of his future children.
It remains to be seen what happened to Barry following his battle with Paradox, but the preview for The Flash #758 describes him as "broken and helpless" as Central City recovers from a recent attack. To make matters worse, The Flash will come face-to-face with his future children, as a corrupted version of the Tornado Twins is set to attack him. The issue also teases that The Flash will need to solve a mystery in his past. Perhaps, that might have something to do with his mother showing up at the end of issue #751? The preview for issue #753 has Barry being forced to relive his most challenging moments - including his mom's death - as if he hasn't experienced that heartbreaking moment enough already. It was also previously revealed Barry will have to team-up with his greatest enemy, Eobard Thawne. So, The Flash's world seems to be in a complete state of peril following his encounter with Paradox.
The next few months are going to take a toll on Barry. Seemingly getting erased from existence, reliving his mother's death, being forced to team-up with his greatest villain, and having to fight future versions of his children is quite the tall order. Such is life for The Flash. If anyone can come out on top, it's Barry Allen.
