The Flash star John Wesley Shipp just teased his return as Jay Garrick, the former Flash of Earth-3.
On Twitter, Shipp shared two images from the Jay Garrick-centric story "At the Starting Line..." from the recent The Flash #750 anniversary issue. In the images, the Golden Age's Flash proclaims, "The future needs me, and so long as I keep running toward it... I'll never run alone!"
"Apropos of several messages I've received today," Shipp commented, hinting at the character's return.
Shipp's Jay Garrick was last seen in "A Flash of the Lightning," the second episode of Season 6, where he revealed he was tracking the progression of antimatter throughout the multiverse in the lead up to "Crisis on Infinite Earths." Despite not being featured in the crossover, Jay Garrick and his home of Earth-3 ultimately fell victim to the antimatter wave, along with the rest of the multiverse.
Following "Crisis" and the rebirth of the universe, Jay's status in the new Arrowverse is unclear. However, Shipp's Tweet seems to indicate that viewers could soon see him return to the screen, though it's unknown in what capacity.
Airing Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/CT on The CW, The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Tom Cavanagh, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Nicolet and Hartley Sawyer.
