Flash Actor Teases Jay Garrick’s Post-Crisis On Infinite Earths Return - Screen Rant

John Wesley Shipp has teased Jay Garrick's return on The Flash. The Scarlet Speedster is currently racing through his sixth season. The latest episode featured the return of Wally West, as well as Eobard Thawne.

The Flash has featured many fan-favorite characters throughout its run. One of the more popular is Shipp's Jay Garrick. When Jay supposedly first appeared in season 2, it seemed he was trying to help Barry and friends. However, it was a ruse because this "Jay" was actually Zoom/Hunter Zolomon. The real Jay Garrick appeared toward the end. The big deal was that Shipp was playing the flash for the first time since 1991. (The actor also reprised his iconic TV role, though the character died in Crisis on Infinite Earths.) Jay would make a few appearances throughout The Flash. Sadly, his Earth was wiped out by the antimatter wave during the Crisis on Infinite Earths event. Many fans probably assumed that would be it for the character. However, this might not be the case.

Over on Twitter, Shipp shared images from The Flash #750, which released in comic book stores last week. The images showcase the Jay Garrick version of the Flash. Along with these and Shipp's tweet, it seems to indicate a return of Jay on the show. Check out the tweet below.

Of course, this is not a direct confirmation of Jay Garrick returning to The Flash, but the potential appears to be there based on this tease. It's not known how Jay would return. Crisis on Infinite Earths changed many things, including the merging of Earth-1 with Supergirl's Earth-38. It may be that Jay has been living on Earth-Prime all this time post-Crisis. For now, it's all speculation until Jay presumably makes his return to the show.

Although nothing story-related has been revealed regarding The Flash's upcoming season 7, Brandon McKnight, who portrays Chester, was promoted to a series regular. Some might speculate this promotion means he could replace another character, but something like that has not been stated at all thus far. Kayla Compton, who plays Allegra, was also promoted to a series regular for season 7. There is still plenty of work to be done in season 6, however. Based on set photos for episode 18, a big plot point will be featured then. There's also what's going on with Thawne and the Black Hole organization. It is certainly a good time to be a fan of The Flash.
