“The Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover ended last month and changed The Flash universe considerably. Tonight’s winter premiere at 8 p.m. ET on The CW will reckon with that aftermath.
Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) had expected to disappear during the crisis, but the superhero finds himself on a brand new Earth instead. The premiere episode is titled “Marathon” and hits the ground running. Iris’s life is in danger after The Citizen publishes an “explosive” story, according to the TV episode description. Instead of hiding, she decides to go after this shady organization.
Meanwhile, The Flash is tasked with something a little bit less dangerous. He needs to honor Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), who gave his life to stop the Crisis.
In this episode, one character’s life is supposedly about to change forever, according to the showrunner Eric Wallace.
The Flash is now the oldest of the CW superhero TV shows after the death of the Green Arrow and discontinuation of the series. The Flash has been airing since 2014.
