The Flash's Iris breaks down in season 6 deleted scene - Digital Spy

The Flash fans were almost as nervous and full of dread at the thought of Barry Allen's prophesied death during 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' as his loved ones. Thankfully, it didn't happen, as the other Flash (from the 1990s show, played by John Wesley Shipp) made the sacrifice instead, but it was still tense.

One scene that really hammered home how emotionally devastating it was for Iris to think that her love was meant to die sadly never made the final, but the folks at Entertainment Tonight managed to get to premiere the deleted scene on their website.

In the scene (from 'The Last Temptation of Barry Allen', part 1), a tearful Iris had the horrific task of writing the public obituary for the hero. She talks to her dad about how she can't even think about how the world will move on, because she can only focus on the little goofy things Barry does that she loves.

"This article is supposed to be about what happens the day after tomorrow, but all I can think about is what's going to happen the morning after," Iris laments in the clip. "When Barry's not in the kitchen dancing while he's making breakfast or when I go back to work and there's no surprise love letters slipped under my desk while I type."

Heartbreakingly, she stated: "I think, 'I've said goodbye to him before', but there's no getting him back from this."

Making the scene even more poignant, her dad tells her to "write this as if he always lives".

Do you think the scene should have been kept in the main edit, or do you think it works best as a little bonus thing?

In other The Flash news, the long-gestating movie might finally be moving forward, and there are talks about it being used to properly organise a DC multiverse.

The Flash airs on The CW in the US and on Sky One and NOW TV in the UK.
