The Flash vs My Hero Academia’s Tenya Iida: Who Would Win in a Fight? - Screen Rant

In the manga world of My Hero Academia and the comic book universe that is DC Comics, Tenya Iida aka Ingenium and Flash aka the Fastest Man Alive are respectively two super fast superheroes that don’t have many equals. But if it came down to it, who would win in a fight that would be more about matching speed and stamina and less about brute force and power?

Both well-known and respected in the superhero worlds they originally hail from, Tenya Iida and the Flash — in any of his numerous speedster variations — are hands down the fastest people around. Yet despite their similarities in speed abilities and powers, there can only be one true winner in this epic hypothetical nerd fight for the ages, so let’s take a look at who would come out on top!

The appointed representative of My Hero’s Class-1A, Tenya Iida is a star student and extremely by-the-book classmate who always seems to have a plan or answer for any given situation up his sleeve. Disciplined in his studies both in and out of the field, Tenya’s Ingenium hero persona takes cues from his brother’s version of the role as he utilizes his engine-shaped calves in ways that increase his speed ten-fold (but only for a short duration) via utilizing his patented Recipro Burst, Extend and Turbo superpowered moves which allow him to use his legs in more effective ways than simply running fast.

Meanwhile, the Scarlet Speedster himself, Flash, has always been considered one of -- if not the fastest hero in all of comics. Able to tap into the Speed Force which gives him his blindingly fast powers, Flash has been known to make use of his speed to create lightning strikes, tornadoes, run on water, time travel, and even cross multiversal barriers. Often needing little effort to keep up his speed for long periods, Flash usually only needs a quick rest and some sustenance before he’s ready to hit the pavement again in no time.

So who would win if these two speedsters ever got into it? Sorry to say for Tenya fans, but the clear-cut winner and obvious choice in this hypothetical battle would unquestionably be the Scarlet Speedster himself, Flash. Putting aside the fact that Tenya’s speed bursts are only temporary (although it’s hinted that he has more calf engine gears that can be developed over time), Tenya’s speed itself is no match for the blink and you missed it quickness of the Flash. Coupled with the fact that Flash has other abilities stemming from his mastery over his powers that Tenya can’t readily compete with, Flash would take this Class 1-A hero down almost without a fight, but not for lack of trying on Tenya’s end.

So while it might be nice to think that Tenya would be able to keep up with Flash in terms of his speed and his utilization of it, it's still without a doubt a notion that’s more wishful thinking than anything else. Flash is just too good and too experienced in tapping into the nearly limitless power of the Speed Force to allow Tenya Iida’s finite speed stop him, and as the dust settles, Flash would no doubt be the last man standing, yet would still offer a helping hand and a few pointers to his newfound speedster friend in the aftermath.
