According to weather forecasts, a flash flood watch is in effect for the Town of Greenwich from Monday evening (10/25) to Tuesday evening (10/26).
This is due to a coastal storm, which is anticipated to bring a prolonged period of heavy rain, as well as the potential for localized flash flooding, strong winds, coastal flooding, and beach erosion.
Rainfall could be up to 1 inch per hour at times. Wind gusts may reach up to 50 mph on Tuesday.

The Dept of Public Works, Highway Division, will have crews out to prepare for the storm by clearing drainage structures, including catch basin grates, headwalls, and storm grate cages.
Since a reasonable amount of leaves have fallen recently, Department of Public Works asks residents to do their part by checking to ensure drainage structures on or near their property are free and clear of debris, leaves and any other obstructions.
The Department of Public Works is committed to providing a variety of services that are of vital importance to the town and residents of Greenwich.
This includes but is not limited to highway/roadway maintenance, sewer management, stormwater management, waste disposal and recycling, building inspection and the improvement of public infrastructure.
