The Flash's Next Villain is the Show's Most Powerful Yet | CBR - CBR - Comic Book Resources

WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for The Flash Season 7, Episode 6, "The One With the Nineties."

An upcoming villain in The Flash could be the speedster's most dangerous encounter yet.

Brandon McKnight, who plays Chester in the CW series, revealed in an interview with E! Online that the challenges are only getting harder for Team Flash. "A few seeds have been planted in the last few episodes," said McKnight, "and now in this episode, we get introduced to another one of those mystery villains who seem all-powerful -- definitely the most powerful villains we've seen so far."

McKnight continued, "It's definitely planting seeds for a lot of stuff, but what I will say about that is don't believe everything you see, and don't think you fully understand what is going on."

At the end of Season 7, Episode 6, "The One with the Nineties," Cisco and Chester return from their '90s throwback adventure as Barry and Iris handle the Speed Force situation in the present. The Speed Force recently returned in the form of Barry's mother Nora and, in this episode, Iris gives Speed Force Nora a tour of Barry's life. Afterward, she invites the being to stay at the Wests' apartment, though Barry clearly has reservations. In the promo for Season 7, Episode 7, "Growing Pains," Speed Force Nora wants to help Barry, appearing at his crime scenes and boosting his powers like a battery. Barry, unable to fully control his speed, isn't so keen on the upgrade.

The Flash has faced some major threats in the past, such as the physically and psychically enhanced Gorilla Grodd and the maniacal Reverse Flash. In Season 7 the real Godspeed is set to appear (after several fake ones), but showrunner Eric Wallace said that the significance of his role is unknown.

The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes and Tom Cavanagh. New episodes air Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
