The first set photos from DC's The Flash movie reveal a trip to the Wayne Manor from Michael Keaton's Batman. Ezra Miller's portrayal of the Scarlet Speedster started with a cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016, and the plan was for his solo film to be in theaters just two years later. After multiple creative changes and delays, The Flash is now in production under the direction of Andy Muschietti. As long expected, the solo film will deal with the multiverse and be a loose adaptation of Flashpoint.
The multiverse gives The Flash plenty of opportunities to get creative with who can appear in the movie alongside Barry Allen. It was previously announced this will include the presence of Ben Affleck's Batman and the return of Michael Keaton as the 1989 version. There were some questions about whether or not Keaton would actually appear, but it was recently confirmed that his iconic Batman will be seen. With the return of Keaton, fans have held out hope that there will be plenty of references to Batman and Batman Returns and what happened to Bruce after.
In the first batch of set photos for The Flash, a return to trip to Wayne Manor has been revealed. The images from The Lincolnite show Warner Bros. trucks and set construction at Burghley House in Lincolnshire, England. Miller and Keaton have yet to be spotted on set, but that could happen later on.
The return to Batman's Wayne Manor in The Flash was expected to some degree. It's unknown if Miller or Keaton will actually film scenes here or if the crew is only there to capture establishing shots and exteriors. With some set decorating now taking place, it might not be long before filming takes place here. And now that The Flash has been linked to the production location, local media outlets and paparazzi could stake out the place in anticipation of Miller, Keaton, and other cast members appearing.
Wayne Manor likely won't serve as a major location in The Flash, but it is good to know that the movie will explore this part of Batman's life. A visit to Bruce Wayne's house, and possibly the Batcave that is underneath it, could allow the movie to include plenty of Easter eggs. Many fans want to know what Michael Keaton's Batman did after Batman Returns. Wayne Manor could feature teases of other villains Batman fought or updates on Bruce's personal life, such as if he got married or had any sidekicks. Those details will likely only be discovered once The Flash hits theaters in 2022, but the possibilities are fun to speculate about until then.
