Letters lately have suggested the rich could pay more and thus the average working man not. There are two big problems with that. First, as Winston Churchill once said, socialism only works until those with money run out, or, in this case find ways to stop paying. Second, even if the rich lined up to pay far more, it would be but a fraction of what is needed. Biden will propose trillions for infrastructure. Great. If every multimillionaire pays double what they now pay, it would be about 15% of what is being proposed.
We all have to pay, and pay huge amounts over what we pay now. Sorry, that’s reality.
