Warning: SPOILERS for The Flash season 7, episode 5, "Fear Me".
Team Flash's resident empath, Cecile Horton, may have tapped into the same power source as Green Lantern to help Barry Allen save Central City in The Flash season 7. This, in turn, could be foreshadowing the official introduction of the Green Lantern Corps into the Arrowverse.
The central plotline of The Flash season 7 episode "Fear Me" found Team Flash fighting a new villain, whom Cisco Ramon dubbed Psych, due to his being "a psychic psychopath." A powerful telepath and telekinetic who showed a curious immunity to Barry Allen's lightning-throwing powers, Psych's preferred method of attack was an aura of fear that caused the people around him to hallucinate their worst nightmares coming true. Psych's power was intense enough that the empathic Cecile Horton was able to pick up on the fear of Psych's victims from across town, sparking a series of panic attacks in the crusading attorney, as Psych rampaged across Central City trying to cause as much chaos as possible.
Team Flash was ultimately able to overcome Psych by enhancing Cecile's newfound ability to push her emotions onto other people with the technology once utilized by Thinker. By focusing on Barry Allen's courage, Cecile projected a field of yellow lightning more powerful than the purple fear energy Psych radiated, breaking down Psych's aura so Flash could reach him. For some reason, as Cecile did this, her eyes turned green and seemed to glow slightly. This is a common effect experienced by Green Lanterns when they are utilizing their powers and tapping into the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum.
The brainchild of writer Geoff Johns (who is, it should be noted, an executive producer on The Flash), the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum was introduced into the Green Lantern mythology in 2004, in the story Green Lantern: Rebirth. Johns' codified the idea that the Green Lanterns, who had always filled their ranks with those who had "the ability to overcome great fear," drew their power from the collective willpower of every sentient being in the universe. This concept revitalized the Green Lantern comics, giving way to a decade's worth of stories as Johns' expanded upon this idea to fashion other Lantern Corps that drew power from other emotions, such as the fear-empowered Sinestro Corps or the rage-empowered Red Lanterns.
While it is unclear if Cecile Horton was able to use the Thinker's technology and her powers to replicate the abilities of a Green Lantern, it does seem a bit coincidental that her eyes would turn green even as she radiated an energy similar to the lightning of Flash while resisting a fear effect. Fear and Will are the two most dominant powers on the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum and their respective Corps are the most numerous in the comics. In any case, Cecile's battle with Psych will be something to think on until John Diggle makes an appearance later in The Flash season 7 and the question of whether or not he's become a Green Lantern is finally answered.
