Team Flash Show Off Their 'Fly' Looks in 90s-Themed Promo | CBR - CBR - Comic Book Resources

The Flash's team will be separated by time in its upcoming episode.

Season 7, Episode 6, "The One With the Nineties," will see both Chester (Brandon McKnight) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) spending some quality time together again, and again -- stuck in a 24-hour time loop in 1998, until they figure out how to escape. The CW dropped a promo for the upcoming Groundhog Day-inspired episode, showing the duo's 90s threads.

In the promo clip, Cisco and Chester are confronted by a mass of green light that somehow zaps the pair into 1998 and in front of a Blockbuster advertising Space Jam's VHS being in stock. After realizing what decade they're in, the pair disguise themselves in parachute pants and bucket hats. Shortly after the pair's celebration of their throwback looks, Chester tells Cisco, "We got to get out of here and warn the team that the Speed Force isn't safe."

Cisco ends the clip with a warning, "We need to know exactly who we're up against," as he and Chester stare dumbfounded and shocked at someone (or something) we can't see.

In The Flash's nightmarish fifth episode in its latest season, it was revealed that the Speed Force is in trouble -- again -- after suffering an attack from new powerful meta-humans, unlike any the gang has faced previously. How the Speed Force became a carbon-based -- or seemingly so -- lifeform that can sustain physical attacks is still unknown. Team Flash decide, for the time being, to protect the human-like incarnation of the Speed Force.

The official synopsis for "The One With The Nineties" reads,

CISCO AND CHESTER GO BACK IN TIME – Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Chester (Brandon McKnight) travel back in time and get stuck in 1998, repeating the same day over and over again. The key to returning home is at Chester’s childhood home but he refuses to visit. Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) forges a connection with the speed force. Jeff Byrd directed the episode written by Kelly Wheeler & Emily Palizzi (#706). Original airdate 4/6/2021.

The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes and Tom Cavanagh. New episodes air Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
