The Arrowverse crossover "Crisis on Infinite Earths" gathered characters from The Flash, Arrow, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Black Lightning, Batwoman and Supergirl and put them in massive, cosmic fight against the Anti-Monitor. The all-powerful villain was set on destroying the entire Multiverse, and it was up to seven characters known as Paragons to reboot all of reality to save everyone and every world. There were more masked characters involved in the event than any other Arrowverse crossover, and yet, some popular superheroes didn't even appear in "Crisis on Infinite Earths."

Such was the case with The Flash's Wally West/Kid Flash, who never showed up during the televised event. However, the Crisis on Infinite Earths: Paragons Rising tie-in comic revealed Kid Flash did help battle the Anti-Monitor's forces. Here's what happened to him.

The events of the Paragons Rising comic take place mostly betweens "Parts 1" and "2" of "Crisis on Infinite Earths." In the comic, the Monitor recruits a team of superheroes from multiple Earths for a special mission: Track down Pariah, who in turn will lead them to his antimatter counterpart, Outkast. Outkast is essentially the herald of the Anti-Monitor, visiting the universes his master will destroy before his arrival. With each world they consume, they both grow more powerful.

The Monitor's team is made up of the and Kid Flash, the Atom, Batwoman, Felicity Smoak, White Canary, Nyssa Al Ghul and Earth-X's The Ray. Kid Flash is an important presence in this group of superheroes. He's just as powerful as Barry Allen in terms of super-speed, and he also brings a bit of fun, bantering with Felicity about all the giant cosmic things they are involved in.

Once they are assembled, the heroes visit Earth-76, where they first meet and fight Outkast and find Pariah. Next, they visit Earth-D, which is the reality where Outkast is currently located. And it's on this Earth that Wally West makes the ultimate sacrifice. As the superheroes fight the Anti-Monitor's Shadow Demons, Outkast takes aim at Barry Allen from afar. The anti-matter villain unleashes a powerful energy beam at the Scarlet Speedster, and with his back turned, Barry doesn't see the beam in time. Instead, it's Wally who sees Outkast's attack. Without hesitating, Kid Flash super-speeds right in front of his mentor, taking the blunt of Outkast's blast right in the chest.

Wally dies instantly, his body pulverized by Outkast's attack. Barry, of course, is left a complete, heartbroken mess, and he takes it out on Outkast.

However, this heroic death wasn't the end for Kid Flash. The Seven Paragons were successful in rebooting the entire Multiverse in "Crisis on Infinite Earths," and Wally was brought back to life on Earth-Prime. The character even returned on The Flash after the massive event to deal with the ramifications of the Crisis on the Speed Force.

Crisis on Infinite Earths is available to stream in its entirety on The CW App.
