Justice League star Ray Fisher is being coy on whether he’ll return as Cyborg in Ezra Miller’s The Flash movie.
During his Justice Con panel, Ray Fisher was asked about the recent reports claiming that he’ll reprise his role as Cyborg for Ezra Miller’s first cinematic solo outing as The Flash, which is said to be inspired by the Flashpoint comic book arc. Fisher initially joked about the reports, saying the following:
“Flashpoint? What is Flashpoint? I’ve never heard of that! What is that about? Is that the one with whatshisname?”
Ray Fisher continued by saying that Ezra Miller is excited about The Flash, but he can’t say anything about his potential involvement:
“I know [Miller] is excited, like really excited about it. That’s all I can say. I can’t really say anything about [being in it] but, um, maybe…I don’t know…hopefully…we’ll see…perhaps! It is something that’s been going around for a while and I know people have been speculating. But, you know, movies are what they are. They change, they adapt, they evolve. Um, but that’s all I can say about that!”
Last week, Heroic Hollywood revealed that Ezra Miller’s The Flash won’t feature a key Flashpoint storyline, as the movie won’t include the war between the Amazons and the Atlanteans. Meanwhile, The Flash is expected to see Michael Keaton reprising his role as Bruce Wayne for the first time since 1992’s Batman Returns.
Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash will be inspired by the Flashpoint comic storyline which followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles. It is currently unknown how much inspiration the upcoming Ezra Miller film will take from the comic.
The Flash is set to hit theaters on June 3rd, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on Ray Fisher, Cyborg and The Flash movie, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more exclusive video content.
