A new fan edit for The Flash movie puts Ezra Miller into Barry Allen's comic book accurate suit. Miller first sped into the role of the Flash in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, though his appearance was little more than a cameo in Batman's (Ben Affleck) nightmare. In fact, Miller got in two different cameos before he had a fully fledged role in Justice League. It's been a while since Miller last portrayed the speedster, though he briefly cameoed in the Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event earlier this year. As is standard practice for superhero franchises these days, the Flash is supposed to get his own solo adventure. However, it's faced several setbacks on its way to the big screen.
Once upon a time, The Flash movie was scheduled for release in 2018. Instead, however, it was struck with several delays and various director changes. For example, Game Night's Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley were attached for some time, but they eventually left and were replaced by It: Chapter 2 director Andy Muschietti. Some hope seemed to arrive when The Flash was given a July 2022 release date, especially when that date later changed to June 2022. However, seeing as Miller still has to film Fantastic Beasts 3, there's a change it might still run into issues.
Still, fans are optimistic that they will one day see The Flash come to life, and until then, they'll just have to create things of their own. On social media, artist Christ Ave has shared a piece that dresses Miller's Barry in the Flash's original suit. It's a bit different than the suit Miller wore for Justice League, but it fits him well. You can see it in the space below.
The Flash is still two years away, so much of the film remains a secret. However, it's said to be an adaptation of the famous Flashpoint storyline from the comics, where Barry completely alters reality by going back in time to save his mother from being murdered. The Flash won't be an exact adaptation of Flashpoint, as evidenced by reports that the Flashpoint Batman won't be included in the film.
Instead, The Flash might feature a different Batman: Michael Keaton. Last week, news broke that Keaton is in early talks to reprise his iconic role for The Flash, which would then allow him to appear in other DCEU films in the future. Of course, this isn't a certainty quite yet, and it definitely won't be if the film never happens. For now, though, The Flash is planning on speeding into theaters in 2022.
