Michael Keaton's Batman meets Ezra Miller's The Flash in a cool new concept design.
New artwork for Ezra Miller’s The Flash shows the Scarlet Speedster meeting Michael Keaton’s Batman.
Earlier this week, the comic book movie world was rocked by the news that Michael Keaton is in talks to return to the role of Batman for Ezra Miller’s first cinematic solo outing as The Flash. Keaton of course played Batman in the two live-action films directed by Tim Burton before leaving the role alongside the director after Batman Returns. It is currently unknown just how big of a role Keaton’s Batman will play in The Flash.
Ezra Miller’s The Flash is said to be based on the 2011 comic book storyline Flashpoint, which started the New 52 reboot for DC Comics. Bruce Wayne’s father, Thomas Wayne, played a big part in this story as that timeline’s version of Batman. The popular theory is that, instead of bringing in Thomas Wayne for this story, The Flash will instead use Michael Keaton’s Batman. The film is still a few years away but it seems that one fan was eager to imagine what this meeting would look like. Digital artist Jaxson Derr recently shared artwork that shows an older Michael Keaton meeting Ezra Miller’s Flash in his classic 1989 Batman outfit. You can see the fan edit below.

Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash will be inspired by the Flashpoint comic storyline which followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles. It is currently unknown how much inspiration the upcoming Ezra Miller film will take from the comic.
