The Flash showrunner Eric Wallace has addressed how the production hiatus will affect season 7.
Like many other projects throughout the entertainment industry, filming on The CW's superhero hit was put on hold due to the ongoing pandemic, with no restart date to speak of right now.
In conversation with TVLine recently, Wallace noted: "Because this is The Flash, there's a huge twist at the end of every season, and that twist is now kind of coming in the middle of the [start of the] season. And that has really affected our storytelling for all of season 7."

The unprecedented situation left The Flash with three incomplete episodes for season 6, which will now move their way into season 7 in some form.
"Amid the horror and the tragedy of what's happening with this pandemic, if we can find some kind of lemonade in the lemon, it's us having to rethink a few things about how a Flash season looks, given this 'narrative unpredictability' to the season," Wallace added.

Season 6 introduced the 'graphic novel' format, which essentially act as standalone instalments. No 1 featured its own villain in Bloodwork, while No 2 centred on Eva McCulloch's ascension as the new Mirror Master.
"There are going to be more graphic novels next year," confirmed Wallace, "but they're not going to be broken up in the way I think folks expect".
The Flash airs on Tuesdays at 8/7c on The CW in the US. Sky One and NOW TV air the show in the UK.
