The Flash movie's villain, which has been kept a major mystery, has possibly been spoiled by official crew shirts. After almost eight years since the project's initial announcement, Ezra Miller's solo-film will finally arrive in theaters in late-fall. While Miller was cast as Barry Allen in 2014, the Scarlet Speedster has popped up in multiple DCEU projects while Warner Bros. tried to get their plans in order for The Flash film. Their iteration of the Fastest Man Alive also became the first major DCEU character to cross-over to the DC TV franchise when he popped up in Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths.
After sharing the screen with Grant Gustin's Flash, Miller's solo movie will continue to explore the Multiverse, which is how Michael Keaton's Batman factors into the story. While details for The Flash have been limited for over two years, the DCEU installment will bring Supergirl into the cinematic world, with Sasha Calle portraying the Girl of Steel. Despite the high focus on time travel and the Multiverse, it has so far not been clarified who the actual villain of The Flash will be, if there even is one. With several months still to go, it's possible future trailers will disclose that.
However, it appears that some production gear may have already spoiled the surprise. Shane Steyn, one of The Flash's stunt performers, shared on his Instagram page the official crew shirt that members were given, which offers some clues. Despite it being posted in October 2021, Steyn's photo recently garnered new attention through social media, with the shirt featuring Batman and Supergirl's respective silhouettes. In addition to that, Miller's Flash can be spotted with evil-looking electricity across his suit, which can be seen below:
It's a known fact Miller will portray two separate incarnations of Barry, one of them likely being a doppelgänger from Keaton's universe. Despite being spotted next to Supergirl and DCEU Barry in The Flash trailer, a popular theory is that he may take a villainous route throughout the story. Given how many speedster villains exist in the DC lore, the second Barry could possibly become the DCEU's own take on Reverse-Flash or Black Flash. If it were to be the latter, it would be the second live-action iteration of Black Flash, who was introduced through the Arrrowverse during The Flash's earlier seasons.
Making the other Barry an Eobard Thawne-esque character would be an odd turn, while also be something different from Tom Cavanagh's Reverse-Flash in the Arrowverse. It's also possible that the Barry doppelgänger may not even take on an established comic identity and simply be an evil Flash. In one way, if there is any true villain for The Flash thus far, it's the risks that come with performing time travel and traveling between parallel universes. Despite Miller's Barry having been a speedster for a few years, The Flash will explore more in-depth what it means to have these powers and the responsibility that comes with them. With less than 10 months away, fans will ideally get a better picture of who The Flash's ultimate antagonist is soon.
