The Flash: Every Hero & Villain in Season 8's Armageddon Event - CBR - Comic Book Resources

The Flash Season 8 will kick off with a five-part event that continues the spirit of the Arrowverse's big multi-show crossovers. In the crossover, which is entitled "Armageddon," Barry Allen and the rest of Team Flash will be forced to team up with some familiar faces to stop a powerful alien threat.

Aside from the usual suspects on Team Flash (Barry, Iris, Caitlin/Frost, Joe, Cecile, Allegra and Chester), the crossover will also feature a number of returning heroes and villains from throughout the Arrowverse. Here's a breakdown of every character confirmed to appear in the "Armageddon" crossover.

Batwoman (Javicia Leslie)

Batwoman Season 2 Poster Ryan

Ryan Wilder is the Arrowverse's second Batwoman, having taken up the mantle after the disappearance of Kate Kane. Throughout the second season of her series, Ryan discovers the truth behind what happened to Kate, as well as battling a number of Gotham City's villains. "Armageddon" will mark the first time Ryan meets the heroes of the Arrowverse's other series, as her interactions so far have been limited to her own show's cast.

The Atom (Brandon Routh)

Legends of Tomorrow The Atom

"Armageddon" will also feature Ray Palmer's return to the Arrowverse. After first appearing in Arrow Season 3, the size-changing hero quickly became a fan-favorite. He then moved over to Legends of Tomorrow, where he and the rest of the team participated in numerous time travel shenanigans. Palmer's time on Legends came to an end, however, when he was written off the show along with his love interest, Nora Darhk. "Armageddon" will feature the Atom's first Arrowverse appearance since March 2020.

Black Lightning (Cress Williams)

Jefferson Pierce is the retired superhero known as Black Lightning. Originally the electrokinetic protector of Freeland, Pierce retired in his show's finale after defeating crime boss Tobias Whale. Despite leaving the protection of Freeland to his team, it seems that Black Lightning will be coming out of retirement to battle the alien forces threatening Earth in "Armageddon." In addition to his own series, Jefferson previously appeared in the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover, where he helped save the multiverse and ended up joining Barry Allen's superhero team.

Sentinel (Chyler Leigh)

When Supergirl began, Alex Danvers was an agent of the Department of Extranormal Operations who was allied with her adoptive sister, Kara Danvers. She has gone through several changes over the course of the series, including becoming the director of the D.E.O. and losing her memories, but she has remained a steadfast ally to her sister. Alex currently operates as the vigilante Sentinel, using a magnetic suit to aid her in fighting crime. "Armageddon" will be the first crossover in which she will appear as a costumed hero.

Mia Queen (Kat McNamara)

Mia Queen is the future daughter of original Arrowverse hero Oliver Queen. After being brought back in time from the year 2040, Mia helps her father and the rest of his allies in battling the Anti-Monitor. And while she is killed by the anti-matter wave that wipes out the multiverse, she's reborn in a new future after her father recreates everything that had been destroyed.

Mia was originally intended to lead a spin-off series entitled Green Arrow and the Canaries, but the show didn't end up moving forward. "Armageddon" will mark the character's first appearance since Arrow's series finale.

Ryan Choi (Osric Chau)

In the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover, it's revealed that Ryan Choi, a scientist and fan of Ray Palmer's, is the Paragon of Humanity. And because of this, Choi is one of the few people to survive the destruction of the universe by the Anti-Monitor. He goes on to help the rest of the Paragons defeat the malevolent being and his shadow demons, allowing the Spectre to recreate the multiverse.

In the comic book source material, Choi is the second person to take up the mantle of the Atom. Considering a connection between Choi and Brandon Routh's Ray Palmer has already been established in the Arrowverse, it seems likely that he will suit up during "Armageddon."

Reverse-Flash (Tom Cavanagh)

Reverse Flash in the Arrowverse

Despite facing certain death several times throughout the Arrowverse, the Reverse-Flash always comes back. The evil speedster has served as Barry Allen's nemesis since before he even became the Flash, having killed Barry's mother and kick-started his origin story in the first place. He has also crossed over to other Arrowverse series, having served as the main antagonist in Legends of Tomorrow Season 2.

In The Flash's Season 7 finale, Reverse-Flash returns to help Barry defeat Godspeed before escaping to menace the Scarlet Speedster another day. It's currently unknown whether he will be serving as an ally or an enemy to Team Flash in the "Armageddon" event.

Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough)

Damien Darhk From The Arrowverse

Arrow Season 4 introduced Damien Darhk as the leader of the terrorist group H.I.V.E. who had a plan to destroy the world through nuclear warfare. Despite being killed by Green Arrow at the end of the season, Darhk returns as part of Reverse-Flash's time-traveling Legion of Doom in Season 2 Legends of Tomorrow. He became a recurring character in the series, making several more appearances and dying twice more. Presumably, the "Armageddon" event will reveal that Darhk has cheated death once more.

Despero (Tony Curran)

Doctor Who's Tony Curran is Despero in The Flash Season 8

Scottish actor Tony Curran will be making his Arrowverse debut as Despero in "Armageddon". Hailing from the planet Kalanor, Despero is a telepathic alien who comes to Earth with a deadly mission. The Flash will be forced to unite his fellow Arrowverse heroes to prevent Despero from potentially destroying humankind.

"Armageddon" will mark Despero's first appearance in the Arrowverse (and live-action media in general). In the comic book source material, he's a monstrous tyrant that has faced off against the Justice League several times and has various powers that are granted to him by a third eye on his forehead.

To see which Arrowverse heroes and villains appear in the crossover, The Flash Season 8's "Armageddon" event airs Nov. 16 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
