HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Humphreys County Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) is open today from 12 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 109 N. Church St., in Waverly, TN.
  • Middle Tennessee Flood Recovery for information on recovery resources and support.
  • The SEOC is monitoring Hurricane Ida and the potential impacts to Tennessee.

MULTI-AGENCY RESOURCE CENTER

The Humphreys County MARC is open at Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 109 N. Church St., in Waverly. The center will operate from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Central, Monday through Saturday and 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

FEMA and SBA will have representatives at the Humphreys County MARC to help with registration for federal programs and assistance.

Planning for additional MARC locations is underway in Dickson and Hickman counties. More information will be provided when opening and operational hours are confirmed.

FATALITIES

The Tennessee Department of Health has confirmed 20 weather-related fatalities in Humphreys County.

FEMA REGISTRATION

Don’t wait to apply for FEMA disaster assistance. Individuals and households in Dickson, Hickman, Houston, and Humphreys counties can register for FEMA assistance as follows:

  • Apply online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov.  
  • Call the application phone number at 1-800-621-3362 (TTY: 800-462-7585. Lines are open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time, seven days a week.
  • Multilingual operators are available.

Information to have ready when you apply includes:

  • Your address at the time of the disaster
  • The address where you are now staying
  • A current phone number where you can be reached
  • Insurance information
  • Your Social Security number
  • Pre-disaster household gross annual income
  • Routing and account numbers for a checking or savings account so FEMA may directly transfer disaster assistance funds to you.

HURRICANE IDA

The National Hurricane Center reported that Hurricane Ida made landfall at 11:55 a.m. CDT as a category 4 hurricane near Port Fourchon, Louisiana. Heavy rainfall from Louisiana to coastal Mississippi is forecast with flooding impacts possible across portions of the lower Mississippi and Tennessee valleys.

Hurricane Ida’s remnants may reach the west and middle portions of Tennessee on Monday evening through Tuesday with heavy rain and flash flooding possible over the same areas as last weekend’s flood emergency.

The SEOC is monitoring the situation and preparing if response operations are needed.

  • Prepare now before Hurricane Ida impacts Tennessee:
  • Know the flooding risk for your area.
  • Have a plan in place if Flash Flood warnings are issued and you need to evacuate.
  • Have multiple ways to receive weather information and updates.
  • Download the ReadyTN app, or any app providing weather updates to your smartphone.
  • NOAA weather radios can provide alerts and warnings for your area and can operate on batteries.
