Despite having plenty of Arrowverse crossovers in the past, it doesn't look likely that Supergirl will appear on Season 7 of The Flash before concluding its own six-season run.
TVLine Flash showrunner Eric Wallace about the possibility of Barry Allen and Kara Danvers crossing paths again anytime this season. "I wish, but… I don't know," was Wallace's response, noting that "I would say, 'Ask the folks at Supergirl,' not me, because that's really out of my hands."
The Flash and Supergirl first officially teamed in the Supergirl Season 1 episode "World's Finest," a notable cross-network achievement due to the latter show being on CBS at the time. The episode saw Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) accidentally vibrate his way to Kara Danvers' (Melissa Benoist) Earth and, while trying to find a way back, teamed up with her to fight the villain pairing of Livewire and Silver Banshee.
After Supergirl was moved to The CW for Season 2 onward, she became a regular addition to the Arrowverse's crossover events beginning with 2016's Invasion, establishing that she lived on Earth-38 within the multiverse. In addition, Benoist also cameoed in The Flash musical episode "Duet," which saw Kara and Barry trapped in a dream landscape by the Music Meister (played by their fellow Glee alum Darren Criss) in order to solve their relationship issues.
Thanks to "Crisis on Infinite Earths," both Barry and Kara's stories have been merged into a single co-existing timeline on Earth-Prime, a statement ironically revealed in the crossover by a pedestrian played by Crisis comic writer Marv Wolfman, who famously killed off both characters with artist George Perez. However, both The Flash and Supergirl's recent seasons ended abruptly due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, with The Flash Season 7 premiere set to continue Season 6's story of Barry trying to get his wife Iris (Candice Patton) back from the Mirrorverse. In addition, Arrow's David Ramsey will not only make future cameos on both series as John Diggle, but also Batwoman, DC's Legends of Tomorrow and Superman & Lois, with the one Arroverse exception being Black Lightning.
The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes and Tom Cavanaugh. Season 7 debuts Tuesday, March 2 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers, David Harewood as Martian Manhunter, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers, Nicole Maines as Dreamer and Jesse Rath as Brainiac-5. Season 6 has yet to receive a premiere date.
