If you're struggling to pay for even the essentials due to lost work from the pandemic, you are not alone.

According to a survey from "Apartment List," 32-percent of U.S. households have not made their full housing payments this month.

A local apartment owner in Quincy says she has a few tenants that have had trouble paying monthly rent.

Tammy Rupp with Rupp rentals says virtually all of her tenants have paid on time, but she also understands what the virus has done to people’s budgets.

She said she tries to help those struggling by giving them a few extra days to pay and dropping late fees.

"You know, normally it is a $5 a day late fee and right now we are waiving that right now, " Rupp said. "Most of the people have come through for us, they just need the extra time and they are elated that we are doing this. You know, it's the best for everybody because it helps them and we eventually get the money."

In Illinois, Evictions are on hold in the state through at least July 26, according to the governor's office.
