It may be some time before the CW’s “The Flash” speeds its way onto our TV screens again. As we wait, Barry Allen and the team may not be looking to bring new members on board yet (keep an eye on Backstage for potential casting news and listings for the series) but you can still find plenty of similar projects to explore!
Embrace your inner hero and take a look at these action, adventure, and superhero-inspired productions that could be your next gig.
“STELLAR”
“Stellar,” an episodic teen superhero project that will be released first as a book series, is seeking White female talent, aged 16–22, for the lead role. The series is about a high school teenager masquerading as comic book character Stellar and tackling injustice. Talent will be the face of the series, playing Macy/Stellar in the book trailer, at photo and publicity shoots, and possibly live events like comic-cons. Talent with some dance, martial arts, or comparable movement training is preferable. Shooting will be in Woodstock, GA in early September, but is dependent on COVID-19 safety guidelines. “SHADOW OF THE CONQUEROR”
Based on the fantasy adventure novel of the same name, the short film “Shadow of the Conqueror” is looking for White male talent, aged 70–90, and White female talent, aged 40–50, for supporting roles. Rehearsals will take place over video calls and shooting is set to start in Quebec in October. Pay is $100–$1,000 CAD per day. Apply here!
ACROBATIC SUPERHERO PERFORMER GIGS
Fairytale Entertainment is casting acrobatic talent for superhero-themed events for families and children. Black, White, or Multiracial male talent, aged 17–26, is wanted. Skill in parkour, gymnastics, mixed martial arts, and other areas is required. Pay is $55–$75 per one hour gig. Apply here!
How to Audition for ‘Riverdale’ CD David Rapaport"ACTION THINGS"
A short film filled with action needs talent. Talent, aged 18 and older, is wanted for a variety of roles. Shooting will take place on dates TBD. Leads will be paid $50 per four hours and background talent will be paid $20 per three hours. Apply here!
“TAMARA SOFT”
An action-comedy short film revolving around a girl who’s inspired by her idol Lara Croft to have adventures in her neighborhood wants female talent, aged 18–40, for a lead and supporting role. The shoot will be in mid-2020 in London. Pay is TBD. Apply here!
“DAWN OF TOMORROW”
A new sci-fi podcast taking place in a retro-futuristic, steampunk-inspired world of where “space exploration, science, and adventure rule supreme” is casting two supporting voiceover roles. This fictional radio broadcast project is looking for female talent, aged 23–60, and female talent, aged 21–56, to record remotely. Each role requires a different accent. Talent will receive $65–$100 depending on the role. Apply here!
“DUEL WITH THE DEVIL”
The western cowboy action film is seeking talent, aged 5–65, for lead and supporting roles. Some roles require nudity. Shooting will take place in Shasta County, CA. Dates and pay are TBD. Apply here!
