The Flash star Grant Gustin teased that he's willing to keep running with the character after his current contract expires.
"I can definitely see myself doing more than just the one [season] that I have left on this current contract. Seven [seasons] is it for most of the cast actually, but I think it would be great if we can continue after that," he told Entertainment Tonight via videoconference. "I may never have a job this cool again, that this many people actually tune in to watch, so I'm not gonna take it for granted."
Gustin said he recently spoke to Michael Rosenbaum of Smallville, which ran 11 seasons from 2001 to 2011. He could envision The Flash having a similar stretch. "That's always been something I thought would be really cool to accomplish," he said.
He noted that an extended run would depend on the results of contract talks, which are on hold in the wake of coronavirus (COVID-19). As he stated above, Gustin and most of the cast are committed through Season 7.
The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Tom Cavanagh, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Nicolet and Hartley Sawyer. The Season 6 finale, "Success Is Assured," airs Tuesday, May 12 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
