Arrowverse: Flash, Supergirl & More Season Finale Dates Set At CW - Screen Rant

The CW has officially announced the season finale dates for their ongoing Arrowverse shows, including The Flash and Supergirl. While this time of year is usually filled with excitement about the action-packed finales typical for the Arrowverse, things are a bit different this time around. With the coronavirus pandemic impacting productions, the network had to readjust. The Flash, Supergirl, and Batwoman all saw their productions shut down before they could reach their finales, forcing The CW to cap off their seasons without proper endings. The only exception to this is Legends of Tomorrow, which completed production well ahead of the pandemic and will get to air its fifth season in full.

Luckily, all of the Arrowverse shows have been renewed for the 2020-2021 season, so they will get to complete their current arcs; it just won't be happening any time soon. This is an issue that most network television shows are currently facing, with more than a few unable to complete production on their finales. Empire finished its run without a proper series finale, and The Blacklist recently announced it will finish its final episode with a mixture of live-action scenes and animation. When it comes to the Arrowverse, some shows are taking the delays to adjust their end-of-season plans, as is the case for Supergirl.

After several delays and reaired episodes, The CW has revealed when the Arrowverse shows (as well as their other non-DC series) will come to an end. The first will be The Flash, as its finale airs next Tuesday, May 12. The following Sunday (May 17) will see the finales for Batwoman and Supergirl. Finally, as the only Arrowverse show with a complete season, the Legends of Tomorrow finale will air on Tuesday, June 2. The rest of The CW's schedule is down below.

While it's certainly disappointing that these shows won't air their planned finales, the final episodes won't be without some spectacle. The Flash showrunner Eric Wallace recently said the episode that has now become the series finale contains one of the biggest battles the show has ever seen. Fans will just have to wait to see the aftermath whenever The Flash resumes production.

Now Arrowverse fans can plan accordingly for the abrupt endings of their favorite shows. It might be a relief to some that Arrow proper aired its series finale a while ago and wasn't affected by this in the way that fellow CW show Supernatural is. Supernatural is waiting to complete its series finale, and it's unclear as to when exactly it will. For now, though, this is the end of the Arrowverse's 2019-2020 season, and hopefully it'll have no problems returning when the time comes.
