Warning! Spoilers for The Flash #773 below
Wally West is back as The Flash and after encountering Heat Wave burning up the city, he just pulled off his coolest move to stop him: using his powers to create a Flash tornado. In The Flash #773, the speedster is forced to act quickly when the villain tries to burn down Central City, leading Wally to pull off a favorite move of his, creating a tornado of water that puts an end to the dangerous fire.
The Flash has pulled off some impressive and silly actions over the years, but creating a tornado using his speed is one of his most inventive moves. Whether utilizing the tornado as an offensive attack or to gather something (like water) and using it as a blast, it's easy to see why Wally West is a fan of the move. Now, with Heat Wave threatening to burn down his city, The Flash decided it was the perfect time to burst out the fan-favorite move - which works to a tee.
In The Flash #773 by Jeremy Adams, Will Conrad, Alex Sinclair, and Steve Wands, Wally West helps clear out a cancer hospital after its burned down by Heat Wave. Wally is confused that Heat Wave is back in action, as he thought the villain had become reformed. However, after learning Heat Wave is causing fires near the Central City pier, the Flash intervenes, saving a kid from one of his fire blasts. Realizing Heat Wave is out of control, Wally opts to "cool things down" with a "Flash favorite" and uses his speed to create a Flash tornado filled with water.
The move proves successful, as Wally redirects the water directly on top of the fires and Heat Wave. When he approaches the villain, Heat Wave threatens to blow up the entire city. The Flash asks him why he's gone back to a criminal life after paying off his dues, and Heat Wave reveals the asbestos in his suit he believed was protecting him is actually killing him. Wally shows why he's a great hero, suggesting Heat Wave try to build things up instead of burning them down while offering to help him - even setting up a doctor for him. Unfortunately, the comic ends with Amanda Waller intervening and grabbing Heat Wave for the Suicide Squad.
In Wally's first big day since returning as The Flash, he showed the world what they were missing when he was gone. He saved the day, used a tornado to put out spreading fires, and offered Heat Wave much-needed help - all while looking cool in the process. It's hard to do a better job than The Flash did in this case. The Flash #773 is in comic book stores now.
