Batman Should Focus on How To Kill The Flash, Not Superman - Screen Rant

Batman has always worried about Superman turning evil, but he should be more focused on the Flash. Over the course of his history, Flash has proven that it's not that uncommon for him to be taken over by other beings. Not only is it dangerous for someone to use Flash's speedster powers, but it's even more dangerous if any of his villains were to tap into his time travel abilities. There would be devastating consequences that could result in a timeline even worse than Flashpoint.

Superman has always been the focus of Batman's backup plans. It's known that Batman is prepared for Superman turning evil and taking over the world. Batman has always worried about Superman and is sure that he could turn evil. However, if Batman were to look at events from DC's recent comics, he would realize that he is focusing on the wrong hero. His preparations should be for any of Earth's Flashes, not Superman.

In Flashpoint, Barry Allen aka the Flash went back in time and changed history, creating a new dystopian timeline. Flashpoint is the ultimate example of how detrimental Flash's time travel abilities can be. In The Flash's current story, Wally West has been sent all over space and time as his body hops between different speedsters. It's evident in this story that through the Speed Force, speedsters can possess each other's bodies. Also, in Future State, Wally became possessed by an all-powerful creature named Famine. He was forced on a murderous rampage, killing hundreds of innocent people. Finally, in 1964's The Flash #146, Mirror Master stole Flash's legs and was granted speedster powers. From all of this, it's clear that any version of the Flash can easily fall victim to body-swapping and do what Barry did during Flashpoint, but they can make it far worse.

These are all examples of different instances, barring Flashpoint, where Flash has fallen victim to body swap circumstances. Batman should be scared of Flash more than Superman as, even though the Man of Steel has been possessed before, Flash has been taken over way more times. Additionally, changing the course of time is can have devastating effects, as seen in Flashpoint, and is far worse than if Superman were to take over the world as he could be stopped. Yes, it would be incredibly hard to overpower the Man of Steel, but at least Batman would be aware of what's happening. Flash's time travel in the wrong hands is far more dangerous as in an instant, everything could be erased and Batman wouldn't even know it.

While it's important that Batman is ready if Superman turns bad, perhaps he should reconsider adding Flash to the list of superheroes who could potentially threaten all of existence. Ultimately, it's only a matter of time before someone takes over Flash again. Given the fact that Flash has been taken over many times, Batman should really start planning for the next time it happens.
