The Arrowverse has delivered a range of fan-favorite moments which have captured the essence of DC's comics and adapted them to screen in unique and imaginative ways. For CW's The Flash, there are so many huge moments that audiences love to discuss and revisit. Yet, there's plenty of underrated introductions, battles, and scenes that have been forgotten about.
Considering The Flash is currently on its seventh season, it's not too surprising that many of these episodes and story beats have been lost in the shuffle. However, to really experience how the show has come to define the Arrowverse and the countless cool moments it has given to fans, it's important to revisit these overlooked narratives.
10 The Creation Of Black Flash
The cunning Hunter Zoloman served as the main antagonist for season 2 of The Flash. Claiming to be Earth-2's Jay Garrick, he masqueraded as The Crimson Comet before finally being revealed as the Speed Demon known as Zoom. His actions would come back to haunt him though.
Thanks to his manipulation of both time and the Speed Force, the monstrous Wraiths came to claim the payment for his sins. The character was transformed into the Grim Reaper-esque Black Flash, introducing the comic book character on screen for the first time. The Speedster spent the rest of his days hunting down those who broke the same laws of reality.
9 Cindy Reynolds' Murder Mystery
Cindy Reynolds (otherwise known as the bounty hunter, Gypsy) was a fan-favorite character, and fans were disappointed that Cisco's ex-partner was written out of the storylines with an abrupt and tragic death. With her father Breacher looking for the true culprit, it was up to Team Flash's resident tech expert to uncover the killer.
Vibe went on a murder mystery mission, which culminated in the shocking discovery of another Cisco from an alternative Earth. The outrage of losing such a vital character to the show is overshadowed the fact that a moving and intense storyline had been expertly developed for Cisco Ramon.
8 The Council Of Wells
It's hard to argue against the fact that Tom Cavanagh has perhaps put in some of the best performances in the show. Portraying countless characters from the Multiverse, each iteration of Harrison Wells is just as entertaining and inciteful as the last.
It was truly exciting to see so many Wells actually unite on screen for the first time when the Council of Wells was portrayed in all its glory. It allowed Cavanagh to flex his acting muscles and demonstrate how many personalities he could take on, while also celebrating the Arrowverse's bizarre Multiverse.
7 Iris As The Flash
Iris West-Allen has continued to be a valuable member of Team Flash, guiding Barry Allen in the field and carrying out some top-notch detective work as both parts of her journalism career and on behalf of the supers. It seemed unfair that West never got to play around with powers of her own though.
After the villain Melting Pot manages to switch Barry and Iris's DNA though, she takes on the powers of the world's fastest person alive for the first time. Donning the iconic leather jacket that XS would later wear, West-Allen showcased she had what it takes to be a fully-fledged Speedster.
6 A Familiar Trickster
It became apparent that The Flash would continue to make references to the previous 1990s TV show after John Wesley Shipp would gain a re-occurring role within the cast as Barry's father and as Jay Garrick. While Shipp would later portray his original version of Flash, Mark Hamill was also afforded the same opportunity.
The veteran Star Wars actor portrayed The Trickster in the original DC TV show and it seemed only fitting that he would take on the same role on Earth-1 and later Earth-2. It was a great nod for fans of both the comics and the previous screen adaptation and a thrilling moment to see Hamill on screen again in another one of his iconic DC roles.
5 The Duet Between Kara And Barry
The episode titled Duet was the long-awaited musical extravaganza featuring Barry Allen and the CW's resident Supergirl, alongside an array of cast members from the Arrowverse. The episode itself has perhaps been overlooked thanks to the climactic and heartwarming final scene, featuring Barry proposing to Iris.
When looking at the musical installment as a whole though, it's surprising that another hasn't been commissioned. The episode was a great deal of fun to watch, as major characters suddenly leap into complex dance routines and showcase their amazing voices for the first time.
4 The Accelerated Man
It might be a blink and you'll miss it moment, but the tease of The Accelerated Man in the larger Multiverse has to get a mention. On Cindy's own Earth, she's seen talking to a Speedster, wearing the recognizable costume of the comic book character.
The Accelerated Man isn't a well-known hero, but he is a sign that The Flash would one day revisit the idea of Speedsters from alternative worlds. As the show has developed other characters like XS and Impulse have been introduced, but this source material scene shouldn't be forgotten.
3 King Shark Vs. Gorilla Grodd
King Shark and Gorilla Grodd are two well-established Flash foes, each of whom has betrayed the team and attacked Central City in many destructive ways. It really felt like the fight of the century when the two animalistic villains would fight against one another for the first time.
King Shark's origins were slightly altered so that the audience would root for him over the primate warlord. The Godzilla Vs. Kong of the Arrowverse, the conflict certainly didn't disappoint and was surprisingly exciting considering the budget the show had to work with.
2 Chester P. Runk's Debut
Chester P. Runk goes by Chunk in the comics. A lesser-known hero from DC, it was quite shocking to see a variation of the character brought into the live-action world of The Flash. Yet, his early introduction demonstrated that the showrunners were able to firmly establish any member of Team Flash, no matter how well known they are.
He's an intelligent source of comic relief and boasted some dangerous powers, to begin with. His debut was both entertaining and intense and Runk has become a mainstay of the show thanks to the popularity of his arrival. Yet, the initial moments of the hero in the show are almost forgotten about.
1 The Multiverse Reveal
Before the Arrowverse, the idea of a comic book Multiverse hadn't been widely discussed on screen before. Of course, the possibilities are endless when the concept is fully brought to life, but until Martin Stein and Jay Garrick's arrival, it wasn't even mentioned.
The Flash turned everything around though with a narrative involving Earth-2. The show opened up the Arrowverse massively so that it could eventually include shows like Supergirl and Black Lightning as well as crossing over to the DCEU, Titans, Stargirl, Smallville and so much more.
