MALTA — Albany-based Mechanical Technology Inc. says the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency wants it to help pay for $358,000 in cleanup costs at a former government rocket test site next to the GlobalFoundries factory.

MTI previously operated at the Superfund site, known as the Malta Rocket Fuel Area, which has been undergoing remediation for years.
