Arrowverse Shows The Flash, Batwoman & Legends of Tomorrow Renewed At CW - Screen Rant

The CW announces renewals for three Arrowverse shows, including long-running The FlashThe Arrowverse has grown considerably since it first began with a single show in 2012. Arrow kicked things off then, but it wasn't until The Flash started up two years later that a true connected universe began to take shape. Though Arrow came to an end last year, the world it created continues on, with a new show even joining its ranks in the coming weeks.

Going into the next season, there were already signs that the Arrowverse would look drastically different than it has in recent years. Both Supergirl and Black Lightning will come to an end in the coming months, and new addition Superman & Lois will attempt to fill the voids they leave behind. There are also several more Arrowverse shows in development. Beyond that, though, the fates of the rest of the Arrowverse have so far remained up in the air. This isn't too surprising, seeing as many have yet to begin their next seasons, but the CW is finally pulling back the curtain on their future plans.

Per TVLine, the CW has officially renewed three Arrowverse shows for their next seasons. The Flash will be back for season 8, Legends of Tomorrow will return for season 7, and Batwoman has scored a season 3. Additionally, the first season of Superman & Lois has received 2 more episodes, bringing the count up to 15.

Outside of the Arrowverse, the CW renewed several of their biggest shows, including Riverdale, All American, and their newest breakout WalkerSuperman & Lois will have to wait to hear about its season 2 prospects, though it already feels likely that it will score a renewal. No Arrowverse show has been cancelled after one season. That series is slated to premiere on February 23, so it will be some time before a renewal comes about. Luckily, though, fans at least have the assurance that most of the Arrowverse's ongoing shows will be back for new episodes.

Batwoman started season 2 a few weeks ago with new lead Javicia Leslie, but its fellow renewed shows have yet to start airing new episodes. Thanks to coronavirus-related delays, the CW was forced to push their latest seasons until the early months of 2021. The Flash season 7 won't begin until March, while the usually mid-season Legends of Tomorrow has yet to receive a premiere date. It remains to be seen if all of these shows will debut their newly-ordered seasons in the fall of this year, but one thing is clear: The Arrowverse will be back for more adventures.
