Cyborg’s Flash Movie Cameo Would Only Be 3 Scenes | Screen Rant - Screen Rant

The potential role for Ray Fisher's Cyborg in The Flash is reportedly only for three scenes. Fisher joined the DC Extended Universe several years ago to play Victor Stone in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and he was supposed to have a big future after Justice League. Plans for a solo Cyborg movie never materialized, but there has been movement about him making an appearance in Ezra Miller's solo The Flash movie.

Cyborg appearing in The Flash has been a possibility for a few years now but one that has never been locked in. Former director Rick Famuyiwa teased that Cyborg would have a prominent role in his version of the movie, but current director Andy Muschietti hasn't been as forthcoming with such details. Instead, Fisher has been at the center of a public dispute with WarnerMedia over Justice League's reshoots. This has made ongoing discussions about a possible appearance in The Flash all the more complicated.

According to THR, Fisher and his team are still currently in the middle of negotiating with Warner Bros. about him playing Cyborg in The Flash. The report notes that the studio offered increased pay after exercising the option on Fisher's contract, but the role is also said to just be three scenes. This lines up with previous reports that Cyborg's role would just be a cameo. Fisher and his team asked for double the pay that WB offered, which the studio turned down, leading to negotiations stalling.

At this stage, it is unclear what Fisher is hoping to get out of this negotiation, but the hardball approach could be a response to the size of the role. The actor knows that Cyborg had a much larger role in The Flash at one point in time, so to now only have a few scenes likely isn't what he expected. With the film moving ahead rather quickly, it is unclear what will happen if the two sides do not come to an understanding. Cyborg could be cut out of the movie depending on how important his three scenes really are, or WB could decide to recast the role if Fisher decides to walk away.

Cyborg's role, and Fisher's involvement, in The Flash might not be clear right now, but clarity should come before too long. Production is scheduled to begin next year, so these negotiations can't drag out forever. At some point, a decision will be made to either have Fisher come back as Cyborg or move on. It is possible (if not likely) that both sides are also waiting to see what happens with the investigation of Fisher's Justice League claims. But, even if all parties involved do come to an agreement for Fisher to be part of The Flash, a rewrite will be required to give Cyborg more than just a few scenes.
