The Flash's Evil Speedsters Unite Against Paradox | Screen Rant - Screen Rant

Over the years The Flash has proven himself capable of beating villains who use strength, gadgets, and even speed to rival his own. But the arrival of his next villain means something else entirely. How will Barry Allen be able to defeat the very paradoxes he has caused throughout time and space... once they take a physical form, and come to settle the score?

It's become a fundamental part of The Flash mythology that the ability to rewrite time, create time loops, and cause changes that ripple out through the DC Universe is part of the responsibility of a speedster. So much so that even the Reverse-Flash was willing to die to keep the fabric and laws of reality from rumbling completely. But Barry Allen is in for a wake up call, according to a dire warning from his future self. Just as crisis seemed to have been averted in The Flash #87, the future version of Barry Allen returned in a panic, dying seconds later. All he was able to pass on was the horrible realization that they had created a Paradox. And in DC's official preview, the origins of this strange new villain prove he's a new kind of threat to DC's Universe.

The identity of Paradox, or how he transformed into the monstrous behemoth teased in artwork is being kept under wraps for now. Thankfully, the preview pages from The Flash #88 provide plenty of fuel for speculation. Not just for the first steps in "Chris" becoming The Flash's worst nightmare... but for identifying all the secrets of the DC Universe before Barry was even struck by lightning. The arrival of an alien in a rocket ship, a green telepath on Mars, a secret island, and even the symbol of Dr. Manhattan himself.

How will this knowledge link Paradox to The Flash? How did the villain's knowledge of the past and future of the Justice League impact his transformation? And is this mystery man truly the being called Paradox, or a bit of misdirection? Your guess is as good as ours, so check out the preview pages below:

Readers are obviously meant to be asking questions about the relationship between Barry's connection to the Speed Force and it's temporal energy, and that sought out by Paradox (both before and after his transformation).
