After the success of Arrow on The CW, it was clear that DC would put plans in place to launch its very own television universe of heroes. The second show to arrive was The Flash starring Grant Gustin as Barry Allen who, after being struck by lightning, gains super speed. The show has been a success amongst many fans and has no signs of slowing down.
Fans will have to get their Flash fix from the TV show until the movie is released. Even though the show itself has done a great job of telling Barry's story, that doesn't mean it's without its continuity errors. Even the best of shows have the odd slip up so let's take a look at 10 continuity errors from The Flash that even the fastest man alive could have missed.
9 Cisco Calls Barry
In season 1 episode 3, 'Things You Can't Outrun', Cisco calls Barry, who is hanging out with Iris, to tell him that there is a man with a gun in a getaway car who the Central City police are chasing. Cisco tries to remember the correct CCPD code for the situation.
While Cisco is reading out the wrong codes, for a moment Barry's phone can be seen but it is on the home screen meaning that no call is actually active.
8 Felicity's Flaming Shirt
In season 1 episode 8, 'Flash vs. Arrow', Oliver Queen and the team from Arrow come to Central City in pursuit of a villain, and Barry, eager for a team-up, insists on helping. Barry races Felicity back to his HQ at Star Labs.
When they arrive Felicity's shirt catches fire from Barry running so fast so she has to take it off. In one shot, Barry can be seen turning around to see Caitlin and Cisco entering the room but in the next shot, Barry turns around to see them again for the first time.
In season 2 episode 1, 'The Man Who Saved Central City', Barry manages to destroy the singularity with the help of Firestorm which ends up killing Ronnie Raymond. Barry also goes toe-to-toe with a meta-human called the Atom-Smasher and loses.
Towards the end of the episode, Barry is reading a newspaper that headlines his defeat and the paper is dated Thursday, October 8th, 2015, but at the end of the episode when Henry Allen is released, the newspaper reads Wednesday, October 7th, 2015.
7 Time Wraith
In season 2 episode 17, 'Flash Back', Barry travels back in time to ask for Eobard Thawne's help in solving the speed equation, but a time-wraith, designed to hunt-down time-traveling speedsters, follows him and attacks CCPD.
When the police officers fire their guns at the time-wraith, there are numerous cops shooting at it. The bullets seemingly travel through the time-wraith but no bullet holes can be seen in the walls or window behind it.
6 Barry's Cowl
In season 3 episode 9, 'The Present', Barry goes to earth 3 to get advice from Jay Garrick on how to defeat Savitar and Alchemy. After finding out that Julian is Alchemy Barry reveals to Julian that he is The Flash.
While the two are talking Barry takes off his cowl which is visible around his neck in some shots, but in the shots from behind Barry's back, the cowl is gone.
5 Iris's Arm
In season 3 episode 18, 'Abra Kadabra', the team still struggles to discover the identity of Savitar so Barry decides to go to the future in order to save Iris's life.
Towards the end of the episode when Joe and Iris are talking on the couch, Iris's arm changes position between shots. In one shot, her elbow is on the back of the couch and her fist is against her head, but in the next shot, her hand is hanging over the couch away from her face.
4 Captain Cold's Jacket
In season 3 episode 22, 'Infantino Street', Barry recruits Leonard Snart/Captain Cold to help him break into ARGUS to steal Dominator technology to use on Savitar before he kills Iris. Snart is currently working with the Legends but agrees to help Barry.
When Barry goes to get Snart he is wearing a blue jacket with a fur hood, the same jacket that he is wearing throughout the heist, but when Snart is returned to the Legends he is wearing a different Jacket with no fur hood.
3 The Robber's Gun
In season 4 episode 6, 'When Harry Met Harry', Barry is showing Ralph Dibny how to use his abilities that allow him to stretch farther than any normal human.
When a robber approaches and tries to rob Barry and Ralph, he shoots Ralph but his skin stretches and launches the bullet back into the mugger who drops his gun to his right as he falls, but the gun appears between his legs in the next shot.
2 Iris's Wedding Dress
In season 4 episode 3, 'Luck Be A Lady', the team encounters Becky Sharpe, a meta-human that is surrounded by bad luck. On the same theme, there is a moment when Barry sees Iris in her Wedding Dress before they are married.
Iris covers herself with a blanket but in some shots, it is draped over one shoulder and in the next, the blanket is over both shoulders.
1 Sun Direction
In season 5 episode 4, 'News Flash', A meta-human has the ability to control people's minds through her phone and uses it to write headlines before they happen. Also, Iris learns that Nora has been off with her because, in the future, Iris dampens her abilities to protect her.
While Barry is playing baseball with Iris watching on from the side, the sun changes between shots. In one scene Barry and Iris are in the sun and in the next, they are completely in the shade.
