As The Flash enters its eighth season, fans of the Fastest Man Alive are finally getting something they have wanted for a very long time; gold boots. A part of the Flash costume that both die-hard Flash fans and the Flash himself, Grant Gustin, have been calling for almost from day one is finally happening, and reactions have been through the roof.

But just because the gold boots have finally arrived doesn't mean that the Flash's biggest fans finally have everything they want. Like any fanbase, the list of hopes and dreams is large, and it gets larger every day. Chances are some of the things fans are hoping for will end up happening sooner or later, but other parts may never see the light of day.

10 More Variety Of Villains

A big ask from fans for a while now is for a greater variety of villains. In the comics, Flash is known for having one of the most diverse and interesting rogues galleries, up there with Batman and Spider-Man, but across the show's seven seasons, the show has continued to return to the evil speedsters, from Reverse-Flash to Zoom to Savitar to Godspeed. Meanwhile, lesser-known but no less great Flash foes like Cobalt Blue, the Kobra Cult, and Eradicator - who is different from the Superman villain - go unused. Mixing things up would help keep the show feeling fresh.

9 Can Barry Use His Brains?

Barry Allen isn't just super fast, he's also very smart. Early on in Flash, Barry's brain is used quite often, and it's even been revealed that he will one day create Gideon, the AI that controls the Waverider from Legends of Tomorrow.

But with each season, Barry seems to use his mind less and less, choosing instead to count on Cisco, Caitlin, or Chester to come up with the answers. Seeing Barry be the one to handle some of the thinking and come up with a few of his own "Flash Facts" would be a big boost.

8 The Return Of Ralph And Sue

Ralph Dibny and Sue Dearbon were clearly being set up for big things, but after a series of old tweets led to the firing of actor Hartley Sawyer, the duo was removed from the show. Sue, played by Natalie Dreyfuss, made a few appearances in the show's seventh season and made sure to have excuses at the ready for why Ralph wasn't around, but fans are still hoping Ralph will be recast so that they can see the Elongated Man back in action alongside his partner in crime-solving.

7 The Classic Comic Book Team Up

Flash and Green Lantern partnerships over the ages

The lack of a Green Lantern in the Arrowverse has been something that fans have brought up for ages, but when it comes to old-school Flash, the lack of a ring slinger is especially sad. In the comics, Barry Allen's best friend is none other than Hal Jordan, the Silver Age Green Lantern.

Comic fans have long held out hope to see Barry and Hal finally meet in live-action or, in the least, for Flash to team up with a Green Lantern and bring some of that famous "fast friends" energy the duo has always shared in the comics.

6 The Famous Race

It seems nearly impossible to believe, but somehow fans have not gotten a race between Flash and Superman. Even before the Man of Steel joined the Arrowverse, fans were hoping to see it happen between Flash and Supergirl, but now that Superman is firmly placed within the shows, fans are champing at the bit to see the two heroes go all out to find out how is the fastest.

Of course, as the comics always show, a race between Flash and Superman would undoubtedly be for charity and almost certainly end up never actually being completed thanks to the machinations of some villain, but just to see the two standing at the starting line would be a huge moment.

5 Where Are Cecile's Kids?

It can be hard to remember, but Cecile Horton, the love of Joe West's life, has two children. What could be even more shocking to newer fans of The Flash is that one of those kids also happens to be Joe's. Before the two became an item, Cecile was married and gave birth to Joanie, who hasn't been seen since Season 4. This also happens to the be season Cecile gave birth to Jenna.

While Joanie's lack of appearances can be attributed to her being off at college or living with her dad, the fact that Jenna, who should be four years old now, is never seen is pretty weird. What happened to the missing child of Cecile and Joe West?

4 The Flash Museum

One of the most famous things about Flash is that he is the only hero to have his own museum. In the comics, Metropolis never built a museum for Superman, but Central City made one for their hero almost immediately. And while the Flash Museum has been hinted at and even shown to exist in the future, the show has yet to make it a reality.

For longtime fans of the Scarlet Speedster, the missing museum is a little pebble in the show that stops things from being even more enjoyable. After all, that museum isn't just about Flash, but all the speedsters who have helped save the world countless times.

3 The Flash Ring

The Flash Ring is one of the coolest concepts to come out of the Silver Age. Through a process that Barry Allen created, the speedy hero can shrink his costume down to a size so small it fits into a secret airtight compartment in his ring. Whenever Flash is needed, Barry just presses his ring and his suit pops out and regrows. Every other superhero has to wear their costumes under their civilian clothes, which must be uncomfortable, but Flash was smart enough to find a workaround. Sadly, the Flash Ring has yet to make it to the Arrowverse.

2 The Meta Crossover

Sometimes, TV shows have a little fun and do a meta crossover where the characters of the show meet the people who create the show. Mork met Robin Williams in an episode of Mork and Mindy and The Winchester brothers crossed realities and ended up in the bodies of Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles on Supernatural. In the comics, Flash used to travel to the real Earth and meet with the people who wrote and drew his comic.

Somehow, even though the multiverse has been played within the Arrowverse, Flash has never made his way to the real world to meet the people who bring him to life every week, but fans are still hoping it will happen.

1 The Justice League

Speaking of the Arrowverse's playing around with the multiverse, at the end of Crisis on Infinite Earths, the Arrowverse finally brought together their own Justice League, consisting of Flash, Supergirl, Batwoman, Superman, Black Lightning, White Canary, and Martian Manhunter. And while a number of these heroes are showing up for Armageddon at the start of Flash Season 8, it won't be the whole team. Fans were all but promised a Justice League story, but with Supergirl coming to a close, it looks like that may not be happening after all.
