The Flash Almost Killed the Justice League With One Ridiculous Mistake - Screen Rant

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Justice League #62

In the latest issue of DC Comics' Justice League, Barry Allen's Flash almost killed his allies due to some bad math. Recent issues have seen the League attempting to fight against the new inter-dimensional foe known as Brutus, hailing from the same alternate Earth as the new mega-power hero Naomi Mcduffie, who was sent to the primary Earth by his parents to escape the corruption, decay, and rising evil of their homeworld. While the League determined to be proactive and confront Brutus' on his home turf, Flash freaks out in the beginning on this issue, realizing that he made a mistake that could have costed his friends' lives.

In recent issues of Justice League from writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist David Marquez, Brutus is looking to conquer the prime Earth for himself, though the League has managed to stop him every time he portals in from his own world. However, the League apparently grew tired of being reactionary and decided to be proactive, deciding to travel the multiverse to visit Naomi and Brutus' home world, a ravaged Earth featuring 29 beings who received superpowers thanks to radiation from the ozone layer breaking down. While the majority of the League, Black Adam, and Naomi jumped to the world, Barry Allen stayed behind, charged with getting the team there and back again once the mission was complete.

This leads to Justice League #62. At the issue's beginning, Wonder Woman's mother Hippolyta has arrived at the Hall of Justice wanting to speak with the League. However, Flash is the only one there, and he soon comes to the horrifying discovery that the calculations he made to send the League across the multiverse were wrong. Fearing the worst, Barry Allen quickly calls in an expert to correct his math and help him with a solution to bring his allies back home.

As it turns out, Mr. Terrific was able to help Barry come up with a solution, and the Flash jumped with Hippolta to find the League and bring them home. However, while the League wasn't killed by Barry's bad math, it would explain while they all arrived scattered and split up from one another. Furthermore, it certainly looks as though the League's problems have just begun, even going beyond Brutus taking down their most powerful members such as Superman and Black Adam.

Now, the dark world's conquerer known as Zumbado has made his presence known, who also has a history with Naomi and her parents. Clearly, this new player joining forces with Brutus could equate to absolute disaster and danger, much more than the risks of The Flash forgetting to carry the 2. While it's unclear how this new showdown will play out, Zumbado does make it clear that he's the one who decides who gets to stay and leave his world. Evidently, the Justice League is going to have their work cut out for them in future issues if they ever want to get home from this dark world.
