BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Walmart Inc. will raise wages for around 165,000 hourly employees at all of its American stores.

The company on Thursday announced new salaried and hourly leadership roles, as well as raises for current employees.

The new wages will range between $18 and $21 an hour and as much as $30 an hour at Walmart Supercenter locations.

“Through this new, tiered structure for team leads, we’re creating room for pay and career growth while investing in areas like pickup and delivery as customers increasingly turn to those options,” Walmart said in a press release. “Those parts of the business will only continue to grow.”

Frontline hourly associates in the deli and bakery areas will see pay rates of at least $15 an hour. Several auto care center roles will also have an increase of $1 or more an hour.
