The Flash Showrunner Teases Godspeed Mystery for Season 7 | CBR - CBR - Comic Book Resources

The Flash will reveal the identity of a villain during Season 7, according to showrunner Eric Wallace. During the show's panel at DC FanDome, Wallace brought up the evil speedster Godspeed.

"I don't like spoilers, let's just say there was a certain speedster who wore a white costume, whose clones kept showing up," Wallace said during the panel. "Really, Team Flash has to deal with that, but we never caught the real guy or girl. Let's just say we might find out that mystery this season."

Godspeed has become an integral part of the Flash mythos since Josh Williamson took over writing the comic series. His alter ego is August Heart, an old friend of Barry Allen's. When a lightning storm granted several of Central City's citizens access to the Speed Force, August became the anti-hero known as Godspeed. He seeks the murderer of his brother, which often brings him into conflict with Allen.

Godspeed first appeared in Season 5 of The Flash; this version of August Heart used the drug known as Velocity 9 to boost his superspeed. Godspeed has appeared sporadically during Season 6, utilizing robotic minions to do his bidding. Godspeed wants Flash's speed for himself, while Barry Allen's speed has been decreasing ever since the death of the Speed Force.

Returning to The CW for Season 7 in 2021, The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Tom Cavanagh, Jesse L. Martin and Danielle Nicolet.
