This Spend Matters SolutionMap Insider release note provides insight into the SolutionMap Fall 2021 release for three categories: E-Procurement, AP Automation/Invoice-to-Pay (AP/I2P) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P). The note reviews the process that we follow and highlights what has changed since the last SolutionMap release.
This release contains the second major revamp since SolutionMap’s 2017 launch, and it includes new “market personas,” updated technology categories and a more focused RFI.
The latest RFI contains new questions that account for recent innovations and updates to other questions that better reflect which capabilities are “industry standards” versus “best-in-class.”
In addition, categories AP Automation and Invoice-to-Pay (I2P) have merged due to an increasing overlap. The categories were intended to integrate since AP Automation had its SolutionMap debut in the Spring of 2020. Now renamed as “AP Automation (I2P),” this category benchmarks solutions providers specializing in the processing and payment of invoices, including capturing, validating and approvals — plus payments.
Three new vendors joined SolutionMap. Onventis is now participating in AP Automation/I2P, E-Procurement and Procure-to-Pay, while Fraxion and Kissflow joined the E-Procurement category.
The E-Procurement, AP Automation/I2P and P2P customer reference set added 81 new individual customer references in Fall 2021. References from Q3 and Q4 2018 expired after 2½ years of use.
