Zack Snyder's Cut Fixes One Of Justice League's Biggest Flash Problems - Screen Rant

Zack Snyder's Justice League takes care of one Flash's biggest issues in the theatrical cut in 2017. The HBO Max film restored everything Joss Whedon erased from Snyder's original vision including the ways he altered the behavior of certain characters. One of them was Ezra Miller's portrayal of Barry Allen a.k.a. The Flash that has a completely different vibe in the Snyder Cut in comparison to the 2017 movie.

The theatrical cut's version of The Flash was heavily criticized from how Miller's character was basically slapstick comedy since Warner Bros. wanted to make the film more in light with the MCU. While Barry has always been one of the more light-hearted members of the Justice League, Whedon's rewrites and reshoots dialed it up too much. The theatrical cut had none of Barry's big Flash moments from Snyder's film. One key factor, however, with The Flash is how he visually looks when he's running as fast as he can. Whedon's film had many issues and one of them was how Barry looked when he ran in the scenes that weren't Snyder's material.

Whenever Barry would run in the scenes that were made for 2017's Justice League, his arms waved around ridiculously as if The Flash had no balance with his body. From how wavy his arms were almost all of the time to the points where it looked like Barry's legs were tripping whenever running super-fast, it was understandable why fans responded negatively to Flash in the Whedon cut. Thankfully, Zack Snyder's Justice League gave The Flash his superior arc back, including making him look cool when he runs.

Ezra Miller as the flash justice in league snyder cut

It's hard to understand how Warner Bros. approved those reshoots when it was Flash's first big-screen appearance (not counting cameos). Justice League was also supposed to set up Miller's solo DCEU film, but it left people unimpressed by the character due to the changes. Approving scenes with Barry, whose defining superpower is running fast, looking so weird with his arm all over the place is the last thing a studio should ever let happen when selling a new character like The Flash. But thanks to Zack Snyder's Justice League, Barry got a solid portrayal.

Not only did Zack Snyder's Justice League fix the running issue, but it gave The Flash a very big storyline. From meeting him as Barry to seeing him as The Flash where he rewinds time to save the day, became a compelling element of the Snyder Cut. Unlike the theatrical version, Barry is a lot more balanced as the youngest member of the team where he still has some of the quippy dialogue, but still a big heart behind it all. Thanks to Zack Snyder's Justice League, Barry Allen got the arc he was always meant to have as The Flash that the 2017 cut failed to accomplish.
