The Flash: Every Film & TV Appearance Of Reverse-Flash, Ranked - CBR

While the Flash has accrued quite a few enemies over the years including the infamous Rogues, however, none have managed to affect his life quite like the villain who modeled himself as his enemy's direct opposite, the Reverse-Flash. And while there have been a couple of versions of Reverse-Flash, each has proven to be a deadly match for the Flash.

This close rivalry with the Scarlet Speedster has meant that Reverse-Flash is often seen outside of the comics in animated and live-action adaptations alongside his bitter enemy. Reverse-Flash has also appeared due to his association with the Legion of Doom, which we'll take a further look at today as we celebrate the adaptations of the Flash's greatest enemy.

9 A Reverse-Flash Named Pollux Appeared On The 90s Live-Action TV Series

Pollux on The Flash (90s)

The first live-action TV series starring The Flash aired on CBS in the 90s and starred John Wesley Shipp as Barry Allen, though he would later star as Jay Garrick on The CW's The Flash as well, in one of many nods to the original TV series. While The Flash in the 90s never introduced an actual Reverse-Flash character, there was a Bizarro-like clone of Barry Allen created for the series.

Shipp also played the Flash clone named Pollux, who wore a blue costume with a winged warrior insignia instead of Flash's typical lightning bolt. While Pollux initially rebelled and killed his creators, he ultimately sacrificed himself to save his "brother" Flash from a bullet.

8 Reverse-Flash Appeared In A Cameo With The Legion Of Doom In Harley Quinn

The Legion of Doom on Harley Quinn

DC Universe's streaming app launched the Harley Quinn adult animated series in 2019, which followed the titular villain as she split from the Joker, formed her own crew, and attempted to make her own name for herself in Gotham City.

The first season focused on Harley Quinn's attempts to earn an invite to the Legion of Doom, which was frequently blocked by the Joker. There were a number of DC villains who appeared in the Legion of Doom, which included Reverse-Flash in a comics-accurate costume- though he hasn't had any speaking roles in the series yet.

Lego Reverse-Flash.

The Flash appeared in a number of Lego games and animated movies (both theatrical and direct-to-video) alongside the Justice League and other heroes, though he starred in his own feature-length adventure called Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: The Flash.

The animated movie introduced Reverse-Flash (voiced by Dwight Schultz) as he taunted the Flash and pulled pranks on the League. The film explored Reverse-Flash's motivations and origins in the future while also tapped into his and Flash's time-traveling chaos, though in a kid-friendly way that was a bit toned down for the character.

5 Batman: The Brave And The Bold Starred The 90s Flash As Reverse-Flash

REVERSE-FLASH APPEARANCES - Batman The Brave And The Bold

John Wesley Shipp first starred as Barry Allen on The Flash TV series in the 90s, though he returned to the DC universe years later on an episode of Batman: The Brave And The Bold called "Requiem for a Scarlet Speedster!"

However, Shipp wasn't playing Barry Allen, and instead voiced Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash (in his Professor Zoom alias), who had trapped Barry Allen in the future where he had taken over as its ruler. Thankfully, Batman, Jay Garrick, and Wally West/Kid Flash were able to travel to the future to stop Professor Zoom and save The Flash.

Legends of Tomorrow featured Letscher again as a time remnant of Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash who allied himself with the Arrowverse's Legion of Doom. The supervillain team was hunting down the Spear of Destiny, which Thawne planned to use so he could escape his eventual fate.

The Flash on The CW introduced the first live-action version of Hunter Zolomon (played by Teddy Sears) as a villainous speedster from Earth 2 who was revealed as the monstrous Zoom after first masquerading as the heroic Flash Jay Garrick.

Hunter Zolomon first appeared in the comics as an enemy of Wally West's known as Zoom who also used the Reverse-Flash alias. Zoom's manipulations of the timeline on The Flash led to his grisly transformation into the zombified Black Flash, who returned to hunt Thawne's time remnant on Legends of Tomorrow.

2 Reverse-Flash Was The Hidden Antagonist Of Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox

Reverse-Flash in the DCAMU

The DC Animated Universe launched with 2013's Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, which adapted the Flashpoint comic storyline. The Flashpoint Paradox introduced a wildly different DC universe that was created due to Barry Allen's manipulations of the timeline.

Reverse-Flash (voiced by C. Thomas Howell) first attempted to kill Flash (and the Rogues) before he was shot in the head by Flashpoint's Batman after revealing Barry Allen's error. This pitch-perfect version of Reverse-Flash would return in Suicide Squad: Hell To Pay as he extended the seconds following his fatal gunshot wound in an attempt to escape from his fate in hell.

The mysterious "Man in Yellow" haunted the developing Team Flash on The CW's first season of The Flash as Barry Allen experimented with his powers and dealt with other meta-powered threats that were also rising around his city.

Tom Cavanagh played Harrison Wells and helped Barry push himself in battle while also provided guidance as his mentor. However, it was ultimately revealed that the Man in Yellow/Reverse-Flash was actually Eobard Thawne, who had disguised himself as Harrison Wells in an effort to use Flash to help him return to his own time.
