Warning: The following contains SPOILERS for Lucifer season 6 and The Flash season 5.
The final season of Lucifer took a page from The Flash with one of its major twists; a new character, who was secretly Chloe and Lucifer's daughter from the future. Originally, The Flash season 5 introduced the character of Nora West-Allen, who was Barry Allen's daughter from 30 years in the future. However, despite the similar twists, the characters and their motivations for traveling in time to find their fathers were quite different.
As Lucifer season 6 opened, the former ruler of Hell was trying to enjoy his final days on Earth before ascending to the throne of Heaven and becoming God, following his father's retirement. These plans were put on hold after Lucifer was confronted by a young angel named Rory (Brianna Hildebrand) whom he did not recognize, who had murder on her mind. She claimed that Lucifer had fathered her and abandoned her and her mother, leading Lucifer to begin checking up on every woman he had ever been with who later had a daughter of about the right age. It was not until later, when the young angel confronted Chloe, that it was revealed that she was Chloe and Lucifer's daughter and that she somehow developed the power to travel in time just after Chloe's death in the future, after becoming incredibly angry that Lucifer couldn't be bothered to show himself even in Chloe's final moments of life.
The idea of a time-traveling daughter was also a major part of The Flash season 5. Traveling back from the year 2049 and taking a hand in her father's battle with the Thinker, Nora West-Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy) accidentally unleashed a butterfly effect that left her unable to return to her time. The events of the season saw Barry Allen getting to know the daughter who grew up without him, before she was revealed to be a pawn of the Reverse-Flash and part of his scheme to free himself from the prison that held him in her time.
While their base concepts are identical, Rory and Nora are vastly different characters. Nora grew up with an idealized vision of Barry Allen as a great hero whose death during Crisis on Infinite Earths saved the multiverse. By contrast, Rory hated her father and saw him as a coward who abandoned her and her mother because he was afraid of the responsibilities of parenthood. This was an ironic reflection of Lucifer's worries about becoming God (and father to all reality) and growing more distant from Chloe because of the work required.
Another key difference is that Rory had no idea how she was able to travel through time, guessing that it had something to do with her anger and desire to kill her dead-beat dad taking her to him at the last place she knew he was on Earth. Nora, by contrast, exhibited a greater degree of control over her powers and knew the theory of how to time travel with super-speed, even if she no longer had the velocity to do it. While its likely the plot point was not an intentional homage, it is still interesting how Lucifer and The Flash developed the same idea in different ways.
