The Flash Season 7 Trailer Teases Cisco's Emotional Goodbye Episode - Screen Rant

The CW has released a trailer for The Flash season 7, episode 12  teasing the end of an era and an emotional goodbye to Cisco Ramon. Played by Carlos Valdes, Cisco has been a prominent and beloved member of Team Flash since the very first episode. Rumors frequently circulated regarding an impending departure. They largely proved unfounded, however. As both a scientific ally and superhero in his own right, Valdes' Cisco remained a stable presense in both the solo show and the wider Arrowverse crossover events.

That all changed earlier in 2021, though when it was announced that both Valdes and Harrison Wells actor, Tom Cavanagh, would depart the series. Already teased as "a heartbreaking episode" by co-star Danielle Panabaker, it was soon revealed Cisco's exit would occur in the appropriately-titled The Flash season 7, episode 12, "Good-Bye Vibrations". Recent weeks have since built to that event, with Cisco considering a job with the Arrowverse's A.R.G.U.S and opting to leave Central City alongside Kamilla Hwang (Victoria Park).

With the threat of the Speed, Still, Strength, and Sage Forces now neutralized, Cisco Ramon's farewell has loomed ever closer. In honor of that, The CW Network has released an official trailer for the episode. As expected, the footage revealed several tearful and heartfelt exchanges that cemented Valdes' importance on the show. As Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) himself stated, there wouldn't have been a Flash without Cisco Ramon who had been there since Barry had awoken from his coma. As such, it's equally not hyperbole when Chester P. Runk (Brandon McKnight) declared it to be the end of an era. Check it out below:

The official synopsis for The Flash season 7, episode 12, "Good-Bye Vibrations" reads: Cisco and Kamila tell the team they are leaving Central City. However, Barry, Iris (Candice Patton) and Caitlin don't have much time to digest the news because a new version of Rainbow Raider (guest star Jona Xiao) strikes and OG Team Flash must join together one final time to save the city. Amid moments of Cisco reflecting on his time with Team Flash, the episode promised tense action including a tease that Cisco might not actually make it out alive.

That would indeed be a powerfully dramatic way to kick off The Flash's next arc. That being said, Cisco receiving anything but a happy ending would feel wrong. He has been very much a beloved character and often described as the heart, soul, and humor of the show. As such, fans would likely not respond well to his being killed off for shock value. The idea of Cisco Ramon leaving, even to embark on a positive future and with the option to return, would be heartbreaking enough. Then again, given the nature of the show, a character's death wouldn't negate the door being left open for a return down the line. Fans will know soon enough, however, which way the writers ultimately leaned. Whatever the case, people will no doubt join Caitlin Snow and the others in tearfully preparing to miss Cisco a hell of a lot.
