The Flash movie teases Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck returns - Digital Spy

The Flash movie has only just kicked off production, but director Andy Muschietti has already teased the return of both Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as Batman.

Just days after Michael Keaton was finally confirmed for The Flash, Muschietti (and his sister, Barbara) shared a new behind-the-scenes image revealing Bruce Wayne's return for the Worlds of DC title.

The set photo, which Andy and Barbara shared on Instagram, doesn't give us much – it's just a chair, after all – but it's nice to know that there's officially at least one seat at the table for Batman.

We wonder if Michael and Ben will have to share it, though.

Bats' role(s) in the solo Flash movie is yet to be confirmed, but it's believed the plot will focus on a storyline from the crossover Flashpoint comics that potentially features multiple versions of the superhero.

Revealing that Ben Affleck's final outing as Batman will be more than a cameo, Andy Muschietti previously explained that the actor is "a very substantial part of the emotional impact of the movie."

He explained: "The interaction and relationship between [Ezra Miller's character] Barry and Affleck's Wayne will bring an emotional level that we haven't seen before.

"It's Barry's movie, it's Barry's story, but their characters are more related than we think. They both lost their mothers to murder, and that's one of the emotional vessels of the movie. That's where the Affleck Batman kicks in."

The Flash is scheduled for release on November 4, 2022.
