Michael Keaton Jokes All 127 Batman Actors Are In The Flash Movie - Screen Rant

Michael Keaton recently joked all 127 Batman actors will appear in The Flash movie. The upcoming DC Extended Universe film will star Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, reprising his role from Justice League. The Flash has been in development a long time and now has a 2022 release date. There have been several exciting pieces of news in the last year or so. For example, director Andrés Muschietti confirmed in January The Flash will adapt the beloved Flashpoint storyline from the comics, but as a "different version."

This comment made more sense in June, when it was revealed Keaton was in talks to join The Flash movie. He'll play the same Batman he did in Tim Burton's films of the late '80s and early '90s and will serve as a mentor figure to Miller's character. This news seemed to confirm The Flash will address the multiverse, as the DCEU's Barry already knows Ben Affleck's Batman. This idea became more concrete later in the summer, thanks to the announcement of Affleck's return. Since then, no other Batman actors have been confirmed to appear in The Flash, though Keaton and Affleck are surprising and exciting enough on their own.

Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week, Keaton discussed his return in The Flash movie. The actor couldn't confirm his role, explaining "So, we're having discussions as they say. We're talking about it. We'll see if that happens." Kimmel then asked if the news about Affleck means other Batman actors will appear in The Flash movie, to which Keaton joked, "All 127 of them."

Though Keaton is clearly not serious about all Batmen showing up in The Flash, the fact it's even a topic of conversation is what makes the movie so exciting. It opens up the possibility for virtually any actor to appear as their version of Batman. At this point, it seems unlikely any other past Batmen will appear, as The Flash already has its hands full servicing both Keaton and Affleck's characters. However, it's possible Robert Pattinson's new Batman could appear, even just as a cameo. It would signify an exciting merging of the old and new DCEUs.

As The Flash nears its reported filming start in March 2021, hopefully Keaton's role in the movie will be officially confirmed. Set photos will also likely give an idea of how substantial his part is, as well as Affleck's, increasing anticipation for the film. Even if all 127 Batman actors don't appear in The Flash, it's still shaping up to be an exciting addition to the DCEU.
