DC Comics Unveils The New Flash | Screen Rant - Screen Rant

DC Comics has unveiled some brand new characters set to debut and be a huge part of their upcoming Future State event. One of the new heroes is an all-new version of The Flash, whose mysterious background makes them one of the more intriguing heroes to be revealed.

Last week, DC Comics announced a massive upcoming event called Future State. Spinning out of the events of Dark Nights: Death Metal, the two-month, line-wide event will bring readers to a new DC future where new versions of heroes and villains will emerge. Among them is a new Wonder Woman, a new Batman (following the death of Bruce Wayne), and Green Lantern Jo Mullein joining the main continuity. While little details have been revealed besides the overarching story, one of the most intriguing new characters was an unnamed version of The Flash.

Hinted in the upcoming Future State: Justice League title, the real identity of the new Flash has yet to be revealed. However, some of the solicits for upcoming issues reveal more about the character and their background. The new Flash will appear in Joshua Williamson and Robson Rocha's Future: State Justice League, which will feature an all-new team starring the new Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Andy Curry's Aquaman, the new Batman, Jon Kent as Superman, and the new speedster. The hero's identities are so secretive, they hide them from each other. The big reveal regarding the new character is that Flash is from the multiverse.

The new Flash sports a sleek costume, with the iconic lightning bolt emblem on their chest. They wear a red face mask with yellow goggles. The character's white/silver hair flows as they run. It's a cool look for the brand-new character. Considering how big the DC multiverse, the new Flash could be from one of the seemingly endless amounts of Earths. Surely, DC will reveal more information about the character as we get closer to the issue coming out.

It's possible the new speedster is a descendent of a former Flash or a new creation altogether. Their hidden identity makes them that much more interesting as literally, anyone can behind the mask. We'll find out the Justice League's newest Flash is when the Future State event begins in January 2021. Check out the solicit for Future State: Justice League below.
